ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ Very good khutba by shaykh. Just one thing regarding obedience to husband - what the shaykh said regarding the concept of qawwam is appropriate if he is admonishing a bunch of men who are not doing their job. However, it doesn’t go over well during a khutba where sisters are present too. It will give sisters the idea if the husband is not being a good enough provider to live the lavish DFW lifestyle, that she can disobey him. Even a fasiq husband HAS to be obeyed as long as the wife is with him. If the man is a deadbeat husband and not providing, the wife can simply leave, since her rights are being violated.
