really cool to see how these paintings had such 'humble' origins, from something in your sketchbook to several significant paintings. Thanks for sharing.

Hi John, I'm so glad to have encouraged you to see it's possible. It can be a challenge to make the effort to do so but the reward comes with consistency.

Hi! Thanks for sharing, I really like your sketchs, by the way, where did you get those types of notebooks or sketchbooks? I want to start using them, but I’m not sure where or how to ask for them. Thanks! :)

I'm glad that you enjoyed looking through my sketchbook. I buy them from my local art supplier. They are quite affordable. Though the pages are think (not like watercolour) they can handle a lot. I just had a look on Amazon and saw they have them. "Talens Art Creation Sketchbook'

Loved your tour, Natasha. What supplies do you use? I started sketching tentatively about 2 years ago now. Still very shy and retiring about my scratchings, trying to be consistent. Not sure whether I've improved any, but still loving it.

So good to hear that you are actively sketching. I'm sure you are improving. It can take a bit to really see. I use all different materials, including watercolour, pencil, pastels, markers. At the moment in the one I'm working on it's mainly felt tip pen, watercolour on lead pencil. Which I really need to to expand on as I love seeing how different mediums work together. But sometimes I'm just in the moment and that's all I use.

Hi Natasha, I really enjoyed watching this video, and watching how much more the trees came to life throughout the video! It really stood out to me hearing you talk about how you don't want the 'same same' - same shape, the same size, etc - I think I would have thought that that is a good thing to develop a pattern or continuity, but I like how you said you don't want it to be boring. You spoke about incubation or day dreaming, I need that, I thought about it most when I was studying and writing essays- once I had done my research and read so much it needed time to stew (like a slow cooker) in the back of my mind for a few days, and I'd just 'check on it' every now and then when I was doing a medial task, and then when I sat down to write it would come much quicker and just flow so beautifully than if I didn't have the time to let it stew. I think I do the same thing still with cooking if I am thinking about a new recipe or wanting to experiment with a new food. I feel really inspired to pull out my mini sketch book and give a few things a go...
