The novice viewer will immediately think either 'Murder She Wrote or 'Columbo.' Personally, I think it reminds me of Matlock, but also Monk.

Frankly, the formula for 'Elsbeth' is straight out of the '90's. It's basically 'Matlock' combined with the quirky mannerisms of 'Columbo.' It's not so much 'Murder She Wrote' simply because it's more of a police procedural show and Jessica Fletcher was not part of the police department.

Bad writing the murderer injects them selves into the situation painting spot light on them and ultimately proving their guilt bad plot contrivances, and bad exposition dialogue end of each episode for brain dead audience the main actor is funny and cute but this show has terrible writing

Exactly. It's in the formula of Columbo, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, Perry Mason, etc. Good mystery while still keeping it safe for the whole family.

Gambit was always so heavily underrated. He finally gets his heroic spotlight, and every mutant who lived through attack owes their lives to him but man it hurts to lose him. Brutal ending to an already incredible episode. The voice actress for Rogue drove emotion into the final line. Heartbreaking. The writers for this episode were incredible.

The collar as several problems in the comics, which I wish the show would cover a. it causes migraines, nausea, and exhaustion. it's far from comfortable to wear as it's radiation. also other health side-effects, it's a tool to suppress mutants so it's not built to help. b. extended use of the collar tends to screw with powers. in the comics rogue and gambit are married, rogue used the collar during her honeymoon with gambit but afterwards it made her absorption powers even worse; making her absorb everything in like a 20ft distance without needing to touch. it got so bad, she basically HAD to gain control or she'd basically never be able to be around people again. c. maybe not applicable to the show, but rogue has trauma associated with being depowered. she was depowered while on genosha and she was SA'd by guards, so she subconsciously views her absorption as a defense mechanism. fear causes her powers to go haywire as a result. but yea, it's not that simple to just use a collar, so hope the show shows us that eventually.

The collar could work, but it the subtext of what the collar represents. A slave. So it could come with other mental problems, issues over time. Not everything you can use is good for you.

For anyone that hasn’t seen The Good Fight, go check it out asap! It was such a unique show and better than The Good Wife imho. It’s surreal and takes place in a sort of alternate timeline to reality that gets more bizarre as the show progresses. It could have yielded several interesting spin-offs.

It's basically a female 'Matlock.' This kind of show was a staple in the '90's, i.e. Matlock, Columbo, Murder She Wrote, Perry Mason, Diagnosis Murder, and more. I love family rated shows like this.

Justin Hartley is fine. But the supporting characters/ actors are pretty horrible. The writing of episode one is not very good either. Maybe it will get better but the only thing I really like about the series premiere was the main character. Not much more.

Good review! You nailed it. The movie is definitely action/comedy. The fighting choreographies are good (but I definitely agree with you about the zooming in and out and first-person punches), the storyline, well, it's there. In the beginning, I was like, hey! This is not like the original one, so I had to tell myself that I had to not compare it. It's (just like you say) a decent movie, and I have a nice time watching it. Oh BTW! I didn't know that Conor McGregor was in the movie until I saw him...man! What a surprise...and of course I didn't expect too much from him, although I know that he was going to up the level of his own character, which is fine. Anyway, thank you for the review. Have a great weekend!!!

Arlene brings Vampire Bill to justice. But seriously: this was very good, but there's just a little tiny bit too much frivolity to her AND Vampire Bill's interaction at the end. A girl is dead, after all, a little more somberness would be appropriate, I think. Just a little more. But I really love the show and the concept otherwise I wouldn't criticize!

Pretty excited I can’t lie. I like how this’ll be the bridge between Prometheus and Alien. At least that’s what it looks like. If there’s any chance of connecting Predator in any way I’m all in on that too. I started writing Predator: Remus just because these ideas came flooding into my head lol😂 any Hollywood folk out here watching hook us up haha Brother watch Alien come on man! Haha

Jennifer love Hewitt is very annoying. She's whiney, fears everything, butting into people business and cries alot for no damn reason. She's an annoying drama queen. I have to fast forward most of her scenes since she joined the show, to enjoy the show. She acted the same way when she was a teenager, which is why I stopped watching her movies, and she haven't changed. She portrays her character as pathetic, whiney and could never be happy.
