Ninja Gaiden 2 Black caught everyone off guard, it was quite a surprise. Unfortunately, it's basically Sigma 2 with a few changes (the most obvious being the gore), which left me a little disappointed. It's still easier than the X360 version and there aren't a lot of enemies on the screen. (That's my opinion) Now, one thing I hated was that the extra chapters (Momiji, Rachel, Ayane) are still mandatory. They should have at least made them optional. I hate those chapters. Still, I prefer to play Black instead of Sigma from the collection (obviously after the x360 version)

Black 2 is pretty cool but no tests of valor and the boring Sigma extra missions are included and they're not optional. Graphically it looks amazing though, overall it's a decent middle ground between the original and Sigma 2. So great seeing it on the game pass front page, such a nice surprise

ng2 b looks kinda sick but i dont know bout ng4 that futuristic thing is really weird ryu looks so odd with that overdesigned suit they shouldve let us play as ryu imo thats what we want not another yaiba like character

It seemed like it was kinda tied into the DS game, it said something about the Dark Dragon causing damage to the world, and the Dark Dragon was resurrected in the DS game.

It was a blink and you miss it moment but Ryu absorbs some essence in the NG4 trailer so it looks like that mechanic is coming back.

I got so excited I went and left a message on your community post. I'm glad you got on the ball with this. I'm looking at NG2 Black streams currently to see if anything of significance influenced this. My friend remains apprehensive as he absolutely hates playing the forced female segments, so I'm there to be his verdict lol. I'll still get it, as I don't own master collection, and I am a Momiji stan, but his sentiments of Sigma 2 are valid.

Great guide man! I've also been experimenting with the config file. there are some findings i made myself. one of them is, don't play with VSYNC off. a lot of Ryu's tech like the forward slash to instant dash actually messes up/too inconsistent in battle. or Ryu's ending lag being extremely slow coming off of an enemy grab or finishing an attack. I think this happens because the game is trying to run itself faster or slower than it needs to, VSYNC makes it run at a stable pace, which allows Ryu to be stable in combat. Another reason it's like this is probably due to the game's internal engine optimization. i remember on the Xbox 360 that the "slowdown" mechanic would happen so the frame rate wouldn't drop and not fry the Xbox 360, example being in the staircase fight. Few other stuff to mention, if you're on Nvidia don't use any of the exclusive settings in the config file ("use_fuzzy_alpha_epsilon", "d3d12_nvapi_use_driver_heap_priorities"). it causes alot of input lag. and always keep VRR on to reduce it. Btw, An important setting you missed, is to set "protect_zero" to false. when you go underwater with this enabled your game will crash. switch it off. I'm still experimenting with these settings in the config file, so if anyone needs some help with the other side of things, like making the game look better, feel free to lmk. i'm also looking into a way to try and export the textures and upscale them to 4k if that is possible...
