G6 has been my favorite in the whole quilt!!! I did it a while ago, when I did my yellow little blocks. The center star is so tiny, that I want to make it again and again!!! Call me crazy!! Hahaha

Thank you so much for participating in Sleuth! We have had a great time creating the story and quilt. We are discussing another mystery quilt block of the month. What is your vote.. story or no story?
@CanaryQuilts3 күн бұрын
Absolutely story! The story is what made the quilt! It was so much fun to make the quilt and anticipate the continuation of the story each month.

Thanks for doing the extra bits on using EQ8. I avoid applique at all costs (reverse is what I'll do). But knowing how to "rebuild" a block is super helpful! And I want a bigger quilt, so I am making the center blocks 6" finished.

Hello did you use the Cross Hatch Stitch to quilt this quilt? Did you start in the corner to corner.\, or somewhere on the side? I've nevequilted a large quilt before.

Great videos. I am just starting. Do you have video about how you organize your completed blocks? I had hoped to do blocks in order so I could sew the blocks together when each row is complete. Thanks again for some great tutorials. Without them, I doubt I would attempt to do this. I have had book since it first came out. Another question, what PDF files did you print out. Did you have them spiral bound? Thanks.
@CanaryQuilts4 күн бұрын
The .pdf files I printed and bound are from the EQ8 Dear Jane Add On. I am so glad you are working on this quilt!
@nancybenolkin47114 күн бұрын
I’m so glad you are doing this. I’m printing out all of row 1 today. Have already printed week one of the order you are doing. I really want to work at putting each row together in order. For me, it will be way too overwhelming to put all the blocks together at the end. Will try and work away at your blocks as I go too.

Something to think about, some people on FB are cutting the roof as a single piece and then applique the triangle pieces or leave them off. It keeps the pattern intact almost impossible to match the pattern otherwise

I was watching someone else doing the mystery box that you just showed block one and they put their block in their house. Just be careful to cut your house fabric facing the right direction I know you’re very detailed so you probably won’t miss that but I just wanted to let you know I saw that someone and they noticed it too that it was cut wrong so the houses weren’t facing forward they were upward thank you

Electric Quilt does allow you to convert the lines in a block to tracing lines which I think would have helped on the applique conversion. Also those applique shapes available might have included a petal or leaf that would have been easier to create the shapes needed.

On that circle area on the border triangle, I think I'm tempted to redraw. Instead of eight pieces, I'd have one circle and then make white applique diamonds. The problems with my idea will be the tiny size of my diamonds and possible shadowing from the darker fabric underneath.
@CanaryQuilts23 күн бұрын
It sounds like a good idea, it doesn't take much fabric to just try it. The other problem with such small applique pieces if there is going to be sewing around it.
@PatA9523 күн бұрын
@@CanaryQuilts agreed on the applique size. Also multiple layers. No easy solutions on this one.
