Oh regarding the rap - in Chinese, there are 4 tones, and each tone can have different meanings, unlike in English where slang and tones can be greatly utilised to make certain flow work. Jay Chou was one of those who was criticised for using different tones in his rap which becomes kinda mumble rap cos the meaning might get lost with different tone. In this song, Shady was using a dialect, Cheng Du Hua, which is a little more slang friendly and has a more subtle tone than Chinese, still Shady rapped at an incredibly accurate and fast speed. He’s known to be that fast mouth technical rapper.

I just found minami and have been watching reviews all night. You were the first person to mention her cracks and squeaks from her raw emotion during the song and it's literally my favorite part of the song. The pure skill to do that on command with this much emotion poured in. This and hollowness gave me my first frisson in years and I am elated!

The last song was in Sing my Song China, which allows original works to be showcased, and Shady entered the finals with this song. It’s about Shady who told himself he’s not going work tomorrow and jump into producing rap music which in China during that time is very underground. Tanya is the mentor for Shady in the singing competition, and added her vocals which talks about finding oneself when purpose and self worth is lost. The chorus and her voice first like a glove which is perfect.

It’s a song the singer 腾格尔wrote for her daughter who passed away from very young age(6), when he was drunk all the time and didn’t take care of her. The first half of the song is pure describe his beautiful hometown,prairie, Sky and running horse. The last half of the song is pure regret and sad for his daughter. He missed his daughter. This song is his redemption

The song HATE was about Saiki's best friend, LISA (a great singer), was cheated on by her husband during covid and created a huge scandal in the press .

Hi. I made a song request through ko-fi a couple of weeks ago. Will that be reviewed soon?
@spiderhandspnz9 күн бұрын
Hey, sorry about that - I've actually refunded it. As per the details in the livestream descriptions, I only accept requests when livestreams are live - and only if they're $5 (previous price) which is now $6. Apologies for any inconvenience, I thought that I had refunded it at that stage. I'll aim to do better in future.

Welcome back, Spiderhands. Always impressed with your analysis. Band-Maid puts a lot of work into their composition, and it rewards careful listening, and it’s always great to see someone like you have the ear to appreciate it. And it’s a wonderful gift to communicate clearly about it for people so people without your background can appreciate their work more. Thank you.

Sorry for the length but here's Kanami and Saiki talking about the song:- KANAMI: Yes. Actually, SAIKI had been telling me for a while that she wanted a song with a lot of development. And when I was making this song, I happened to have experienced the death of someone close to me, so I was thinking about things like "What is life?" and "What does it mean to live?" So I thought I'd like to try to express things like "What is a person's life?" and "Life has ups and downs" through music. Even though there are ups and downs and many changes, there should be a core that never changes, so I expressed that in the riff... I'm kind of embarrassed to say this myself SAIKI: This is a song that I thought was very wonderful from the first time I heard it. I got a lot of images when I listened to it. This is exactly the kind of song I wanted. ──The lyrics of this song were written by SAIKI. It seems a little different from "life has ups and downs," but it seems to express a view of life. What did you want to express here? SAIKI: Every day, I realize the greatness of music, and while I was researching the history of music, I learned that there were songs that were forbidden to be sung long ago, and stories that were forbidden to be told. But now, with modern technology, we have the chance to restore them and listen to them, and the reality is that we can now read stories that were once forbidden. That made me realize that art is something that never disappears, and I thought that this in itself is very romantic and beautiful. When I thought about what would happen if I expressed life in music, while asking the question "What is life?" that KANAMI asked, I thought that "living" means "we are here now." I wrote this song with the hope that even if our bodies were to disappear, someone might someday pass on this music. I thought it would be nice if our music would remain in the future. I thought it would be wonderful if people in the future who would never know BAND-MAID would find out about us through this song, and if our music could give someone a push. I've experienced something like that myself. There are many musicians who were no longer in this world when I started to like music, right? But their music gave me courage, taught me the greatness of music, and gave me a push, so I wrote these lyrics hoping that I could do that someday

When Kanami was writing this song she had lost a close relative (I believe it was her grandmother). It is a song built on the meaning of our lives and what that means to the individual members of the band. Realising the music will be their legacy, their love for the Masters and Princesses and each other.
