at the time of this video, i was using a blackhawk omnivore for owb (not ideal since its a level 2 button release) and a tier 1 msp when i run from AIWB. i still run the tier 1 for every day carry and when i wanna run from concealed in a match. but when i run off the belt owb i run a different holster now since i no longer run lights on my guns in competition for the most part. cant remember what brand but its just a standard small holster made for a prodigy but works with all my 2011s ive tried (platypus, ds9, titan rds)

thank you my man!! after i made this review the screws holding the optic to the plate finally held for a while, then the screws holding the plate to the slide came loose lol. i had to get my own longer screws and shave them down with my angle grinder. since then theyve held but i havent shot it a whole lot. also got some plus 5 basepads from taylor freelance and they wouldnt quite click in so i had to shave the beveled edge down with an angle grinder and now they work. so yes its an awesome platform but if you want to get the most out of it youll have to put in a little work lol

Have you checked out Fusion Firearms XP pro? Just ordered can’t wait for it to come in. It will go well with the platypus when it gets here. I’d like your thoughts on it.
@Targetacquiredtv14 күн бұрын
well since you already ordered one im probably not the guy to ask for an opinion on it lol. im not sold on it. price point is great! chrome finish is cool. the fact theyre calling it a game changer because it takes glock mags is laughable when the platypus has been out for 2 years now. and they dont come close to offering what the platypus does. then the fact its only available in 4 inch model is lame. videos ive seen the thing looks snappy. not offering direct mount optic cut is a huge miss on their part as well. so all in all, its definitely cool that theres another option out there for a 1911 that takes glock mags that you dont have to wait months for and is considerably cheaper but its cheaper for a number of reasons. personally i have no interest in it but i can see the appeal. with all that being said, i hope that you absolutely love it when you get it!! wasnt trying to rain on your parade at all, but since you asked...

For what its worth I have the Holosun 508T on all eight of my 2011/DS pistols and my Glock 17, G47 and the G17 just changed the battery last month it has had the same battery since 2019. It was a test that's all guys and it still was strong. Love the 508T. Have one more 2011 coming and I was thinking of that Vortex Def. XL but it appears to have that offset like the RMR HD could hang over too close to the ejection port..? 😎

yeah i have a 508T green dot on my prodigy, its a good optic. glass is a bit small for my liking these days, but gets the job done. and that vortex defender XL definitely does overhang a bit like an SRO or RMR HD, but im not sure its quite as bad. definitely looks like a bad ass optic though.

both the one i have and the one the guy kept were the original chainlink grip style. the one he sold me has the finger grooves which ive come to love, but the prickle wasnt out yet. that prickle does look really good though. ive put over 5k rounds through it since this video shooting it in uspsa matches a couple times a week typically and i dont have a single complaint about the gun

@@hoodsta_Pizzo yeah i hate a short grip as well, i have somewhat bigger hands and wider palms. if you watch some of my other reviews its something i mention often when reviewing guns. as for the platypus its plenty long enough even with the magwell. and the chain link is plenty grippy which i had my doubts about prior to getting it. that new prickle grip looks great too though.

@@hoodsta_Pizzo hey im happy to answer as many questions as you got lol i love this shit. but no self defense rounds as i dont carry it. but ive tried every brand and grain of target and match grade ammo and it eats it all without issue. the chain link is great for sure but the prickle as i understand it is even more grippy. you dont have to get the agressive version, which they warn you is rough on the hands. they offer a regular prickle. but either way chain link or prickle i dont think you can go wrong.

For those talking crap about turkish made weapons & referencing the xp pro , I have Tisas pistols and they have quality that's found on top tier for a fraction of the price. I don't do competition, I do practical training & I'm not worried as much as where they're made as much as functionality, parts/accessories availability & accuracy. If I can get those a lot cheaper in a Turkish made, then that's where I'm getting it.
