i was able to get the taylor freelance plus 5 basepads to work, just had to grind the beveled edges down a little on both sides. little black gloss spray paint and good to go.

Yeah bro its honestly bullshit and when i brought the fact that hes becoming known in the industry for this shit happening with his plates and screws, thats when he just refunded me and told me buy somewhere else lol. well as of now the plate and optic both seem to finally be holding. 3rd time with the optic screws was the charm after using vibratite instead of loctite, but then the plate itself came loose lol. so 4th time seems to be the charm as of now but time will tell. i re did both with vibratite again and didnt touch the gun for 48 hours this time. i also cranked down the plate to slide screws as much as i could without snapping them off lol. ive run two low round count uspsa matches ( about 100 rounds each) with the gun since and had a 100 round or so training session and so far theyre holding.

i run the tier 1 msp made for a tlr1 and it fits the c2 with compensator just fine, along with all my other hand guns with lights mounted on them. the compensator does stick out just a touch at the bottom though.

Someone told me If I have a comp, just use holster for XC and it will fit.

@@TinNguyen-Carlie yes it should. comp pretty much makes it same barrel length as the XC overall.

yeah im planning on doing a comparison between the DS9 and the Titan RDS V2. at the moment the DS9 is my favorite for competition if im running owb and the dwx compact is my favorite for competition if i wanna run iwb. just dont have much time behind the atlas yet as my sro for it had to be sent back to trijicon. 2311 compact is still my favorite "do it all" pistol and my edc.

yeah unfortunately its a common theme with impact machine. thats bullshit they never refunded you after agreeing to though. id message them in instagram and ask about it. guy was cool with me at first but after we went back and forth a while he got butt hurt when i brought up the fact that this is a common theme with his products and refunded me then blocked me lol.

at the time of this video, i was using a blackhawk omnivore for owb (not ideal since its a level 2 button release) and a tier 1 msp when i run from AIWB. i still run the tier 1 for every day carry and when i wanna run from concealed in a match. but when i run off the belt owb i run a different holster now since i no longer run lights on my guns in competition for the most part. cant remember what brand but its just a standard small holster made for a prodigy but works with all my 2011s ive tried (platypus, ds9, titan rds)

thank you my man!! after i made this review the screws holding the optic to the plate finally held for a while, then the screws holding the plate to the slide came loose lol. i had to get my own longer screws and shave them down with my angle grinder. since then theyve held but i havent shot it a whole lot. also got some plus 5 basepads from taylor freelance and they wouldnt quite click in so i had to shave the beveled edge down with an angle grinder and now they work. so yes its an awesome platform but if you want to get the most out of it youll have to put in a little work lol

much appreciated!! i run a tier 1 msp made for the tlr1. it fits every gun ive owned from the dwx compact to my 2311 to my staccato xc, as long as they have a tlr1 or similar shaped and sized light mounted on them. only holster ill ever buy for concealed carry again.

well since you already ordered one im probably not the guy to ask for an opinion on it lol. im not sold on it. price point is great! chrome finish is cool. the fact theyre calling it a game changer because it takes glock mags is laughable when the platypus has been out for 2 years now. and they dont come close to offering what the platypus does. then the fact its only available in 4 inch model is lame. videos ive seen the thing looks snappy. not offering direct mount optic cut is a huge miss on their part as well. so all in all, its definitely cool that theres another option out there for a 1911 that takes glock mags that you dont have to wait months for and is considerably cheaper but its cheaper for a number of reasons. personally i have no interest in it but i can see the appeal. with all that being said, i hope that you absolutely love it when you get it!! wasnt trying to rain on your parade at all, but since you asked...

Love the honesty. With the platypus coming in December I figured what the hell I’ll give it a shot. I like the Glock mags option. Being I have a bunch already.

yeah i have a 508T green dot on my prodigy, its a good optic. glass is a bit small for my liking these days, but gets the job done. and that vortex defender XL definitely does overhang a bit like an SRO or RMR HD, but im not sure its quite as bad. definitely looks like a bad ass optic though.

thats at a sanctioned USPSA match, and hes standing behind the rear fault line along with the rest of the squad of about 10 others. the only way for someone to be in danger at one of these matches is for someone to break a rule and do something unsafe, at which point they are disqualified and asked to leave.

Go figure, never shot one of those matches but I would not be sitting there.....all good as it is not my butt.....

ive had the vortex defender ST and loved it. dont love that it takes the DPP footprint though. the shake awake wasnt great either, i went through batteries kinda fast. but ive heard they fixed that with the XL. its definitely right up there in the top 3 pistol optics with the SRO and holosun comp for sure!!

@@Targetacquiredtv the defender XL glass is clearer than the SRO and the dot is brighter than the SRO. It’s better than SRO in every way but SRO has the proven reputation to hold zero with over 40,000 rounds.

@@airmann4673 yeah at the end of the day its all subjective and opinion based like anything else in the 2A world. i prefer the round glass over square now personally. but ill definitely end up with a defender XL at some point because they are great optics.
