Cumbria is no longer an ELS service. This is now just a normal Command Unit

The ELS cert hadn’t ran out at the time of filming. As Tyne and Wear (who are replacing us as ELS) hadn’t finished training yet.

It seems as if almost everything the Americans do, we will do, including having bull horns on fire engines. But 2 American fire and rescue features we probably won't get are Q sirens on fire engines (nice noise) or helmets that look like sou' westers with 8 combs and a big badge on the front. Although the company that makes the Cumbrian fire helmets, Gallet, is owned by US firm MSA. In the 90s an American "modern" helmet was very popular with UK fire brigades- the Cairns Metro 660.

Ya know if they swapped the yellow on the checkboard for white, it'd fit the pattern nicely with the white front and wheelwells. Also, and this might be a dumb question, but where's the gear for A1's crew; more than half of them had no turnouts on whatsoever.

In Cleveland they have to have their seatbelts on before the appliance moves. just a protocol that they put in place after an incident where a firefighter fell out of the appliance whilst mobile. so thats why they probably dont have their tunics on yet.

@Jacksle999 Across the pond in the States most departments have a similar requirement, but we dress before we belt in that way we're ready when we hit scene. We also have door alarms which tell the engineer if a door or compartment is open so they know not to move the rig. Only exception to that is our walk-in rescue trucks, were its practically tradition to leave the rear door open. Far as I know no one has fallen out of one while it was in motion.

Yes. There is also strip lights around the edges of the bay doors that come on when the bells go.
