Looking to trade my scatpack challenger in for a more usable daily driver. My beater 2001 buick doesnt have much life left, frame rotting out. I mainly want something i can rely on when my buick dies, im in ohio so i have snow, lots of rain, ice. Have a 30 minute commute 6-7 days a week for work in a low traffic rural area. Been looking at GRC, golf R, golf gti. Ill pick another beater up eventually aswell. What do you think, have any recommendations?

I feel like ill be purchasing one in the near future. To be honest I'm into the car because I already liked the normal corrola, I thought that car looks cool. But when I learned about the GR corrola, my mind was BLOWN. A big part of why I want the car is purely by how it looks but I don't want a manual car. I heard that in 2025 they will be adding the auto transmition BUT the front of the car is getting a redesign which REALLY bummed me out. IN my opinion the new 2025 bumper look is SO UGLY which is a shame because I want the auto transmission. Hopefully there is an option for the old corrola bumper look in the 2025 corrola or atleast it be compatible with the old bumper so maybe I can modify it to the old look.

thats crazy abt the cops bc i for sure drive VERY conservatively when i see one but maybe its because i live close to a police station to they kinda know me? in a sense, but im in Ktown/midcity and cops really never bother me thankfully and i run into alot, ALOTT of cops on a daily basis being in la as well haha but it can also be the driver who knows😭 love your sti man!

I daily a GRC. Couldnt agree more. I drove a 21 STI in a parking lot w my friend (his car) and it definitely felt more conducive to track use. I loved the pedal feel (although my friend said its hard to use w big feet which is the opposite of the GRC) but theres not much i would trade my GRC for. I love my GRNOLA

😑😑😑 you can't go 100% front or rear. Its still spilt front to back it Just switches it from front bias to back bias. Full lockup is only in manual mode. All STIs probably all EJs turbos suffer from fueling issues. Get yourself a radar detector Valentine one Gen 2 How much horsepower are you making Maybe next time I'm out there might , Go for a canyon run.

Yea might be worth seeing what’s around I recommend trying to do day classes they usually go quicker around me there’s schools that range from being completely free or costing around 2-4K for the 2 years after a year you can start working might be at a lower rate but I’ve seen most licensed mechanics with both ratings ranging from 30-45 dollars an hour just depending on relative experience and the company but that number is always going up when I got out of school the range was 23-27 a lot has changed in 6 years !

@@UrbanBryan awesome good to know. What's the learning curve like?
@UrbanBryan
@UrbanBryan 2 ай бұрын
@@lonewolf7164 honestly school wise i feel it was all new to me because I didn’t grow up around aviation and that’s what the school does set a good foundation for what aviation is ! The first 3 subjects where really challenging for me and for everyone but once you get past that initial learning curve it’s pretty much the same routine for the next 2 years and it gets much easier ! As far as the learning curve once you get in the field I feel depending on the training most people take 2-3 years getting very comfortable with the different airframes but Forsure by year 3-4 you’ll be a pro and at that point very desirable so that’s normally where people will see they’re biggest raises !

You want to be careful though because wider doesn't always mean that it will have more traction and handle better. You also didn't mention the aspect ratio of the tires as you mentioned the width. A 255 that most people have used is a 255/35R18 but the diameter is even smaller than stock. The 265/35R18 is the same diameter as the OEM 235/40R18 and the 275/35R18 is the same diameter as the 245/40R18. For canyons and mountain driving I've found that the OEM size 235/40R18 is perfect as it offers more than enough traction and the steering input is better than a wider tire.
@JG-mg3if

What you think about the 245s Jim? Ain’t that the size of Morizo? Would like to have a little more side wall but not loose height.
@jimsgaragetoys
@jimsgaragetoys 3 ай бұрын
@@JG-mg3if I think that 245/40R18 will be fine and for people that are using this as a DD and some spirited driving the 235/40R18 or 245/40R18 sizes offer plenty of traction. If I was tracking my car I would have a set of wheels and tires just for the track. Since I don't track mine but enjoy a lot of spirited canyon driving I wanted to keep the same wheel specs as the OEM wheels of 18x8.5 +30mm offset. I use my OEM wheels for my winter tires so I added 15mm spacers on the front and 25mm spacers on the rear after removing the OEM 10mm spacer as I don't like to stack spacers. This way the wheels and tires fill out the wheel wells much better but I keep the simplicity of the OEM size and the wheels and tires are less expensive while still providing more than enough traction and grip.

congrats on the STI! it's good car enthusiasts like you still appreciate the car unlike the fake car guys that talk about the VB WRX. The STI has front LSD, center DCCD diff, and rear LSD just like the EVO, GTR, and GR Corolla for that amazing AWD handling, but the VB WRX guys have no idea they run front open diff and rear open diff with brakepad torque vectoring straight from the Forester. That's why VB guys only ever talk about their engines and how much HP they can make for drag racing in straight line.
