We have lots of hikes like that in Oregon. But none of them have guard rails and stairs. We have to bring our own ropes. Nice fish but an easy trail. Might as well have arrows pointing to the fishing hole.
@Dinko_B9 күн бұрын
Funny you mention that, cause this hike used to be exactly that. Scaling the mountain side with an 80ft rappel right at the end. Until a guy fell near the top and lost his life. The state deemed it to dangerous and had a safe passage put in to keep the fisherman safe.

Thanks Tim! I run steelhead beads, I have a video showing the set up! We release fish that are on the smaller size since they only want to reproduce and the keep the genes of the larger fish in the system

Good lord you guys need some fish handling and netting skills. If you plan to keep fishing for those natives, wear waders and net them quickly. Fish out of water for 30 seconds, that's just what you've shown. Keep em in the water if you're gonna be fishing actively spawning fish. Those fish go how far and go through all that to drop their eggs in the river, not on the bank. Every hen was dropping eggs and you guys are all dur durdur. Wow
@SilentBobber913 ай бұрын
Losen that drag and let them run. 30lb for steelhead is craaazy
@Dinko_B3 ай бұрын
Problem with letting them run is all the rocks. These fish go straight for em, makes it tricky!
@SilentBobber913 ай бұрын
@Dinko_B oh I know, I get those fresh chromers here in the pnw. But letting them run/chasing them is half the fun. I don't even use 30lb leaders for chinook in our small rivers that's nuts lol. But get, you landed fish that's what matters.

I agree! I actually cut out a TON of footage where we ended up losing them to the rocks! 😂
