A fascinating and surreal musical landscape. I love the musical imagination on display. The third movement, One Man Band so wild and fun, but looks fiercely difficult! I really also enjoyed Fallstudie, what a great set.

I don't know, I always had a bit ambiguous feelings about minimalism but I've become pretty bored with the tendency lately, it is so absorped in everyday music now, certainly movies, that it has lost its initial meaning. To say that it had become repetitive is a worn down joke, but still...

To say that this (and other pieces by Lang) is minimalism just because it consists of loops is not really true... Bernhard Lang composes very complex structures, especially in his GAME series, which implements very interesting parts with independent orchestra performance. I don't know if you already know, but the score is available on issuu, and the complexity of polyrhythms that are often used here in my opinion denies the concept of minimalism.

@B-eSCH I see, ok, I will look into it. Maybe I jumped to conclusions.

idk if Ligeti had spd but this feels like an accurate respresentation of it for me in the most positive way
@@B-eSCH yes, it is really unsusully sumptous and has a vastness of sound to it. Recently I found some pieces by Bernhard Lang a bit superficial but this time there is depth in his music:)
