The name sackbut seems to have derived from the French sacqueboute, which was originally the name of a type of hook for pulling a man off a horse. The modern trombone, after being abandoned as a musical instrument, could readily be repurposed for this sensible and entirely legal activity - by a suffragette, or a gambler, for example.

Please, show us the most modern Rath alto trombone. This one with trigger.

It is especially difficult to play in the low register he chose.

I doubt one can teach musicality like that is. You just have to HAVE IT! I guess it's hard not to "show off" though. He plays somewhat like I heard Bart Van Lear play.

isn't a tenor with 2 triggers in F and Gb just a bass?
@joshuayue854
@joshuayue854 5 жыл бұрын
A bass would have two triggers and a larger bore and bell, but I think the one he's playing has a tenor bell and bore

You guys making these comments must be really young guys. Michael Dease is one of the Top Trombone Players out of New York City today. He and David Gibson both play on Rath Trombones exclusively. Michael sounds awesome. And is a technical master. You should all strive to play so well! And Mick Rath makes an amazing Trombone. I wish I had a couple of them. Go get you some Rosolino, Fontana, and Watrous and listen for a little while.
