🗣️I can't believe that Hamas has taken israeli settlers hostage! 🥷You said nothing about israel holding 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza hostage for the past 16 years 🙄 🗣️Israel is holding 2.4 million Palestinians hostage? 🥷Yes. Israel has been militarily blockading Gaza for 16 years. The 2.4 million Palestinians living there are not allowed to leave, no one can enter, and the Israeli military have them under land, sea and air siege. 🗣️But that doesn't make taking Israeli hostages ok! 🥷The few lsraeli hostages are in fact Israeli soldiers and Israeli army generals who are responsible for keeping Palestinians hostage in the world's largest open air prison, Gaza. The 2.4 million Palestinians held hostage are all civilians. 🗣️But that still doesn't mean what Hamas are doing is ok! 🥷There is a lot of disinformation being spread about what Hamas are doing based in racist & islamaphobic tropes of Muslims & Arabs. Misinformation with absolutely no evidence. How can you be so quick to condermn an entity you know absolutely nothing about? Such disinformation is being used to dehumanise the Palestinian civilians that Israel has declared genocide upon in Gaza. 🗣️So what is Hamas doing? 🥷This isn't about Hamas. This is about Palestinians right to resist 75 years of lsraeli settlers colonising their native land, ethnically cleansing their native people, decades of illegal Israeli military occupation and apartheid. 🗣️But surely there are other ways Palestinians can resist? 🥷Palestinians have boycotted Israel, they were met with imprisonment (BDS), Palestinian's who chose to convey their struggle through writing & political cartoons were assasinated (Ghassan Kanafani & Naji Al Ali). Palestinians have peacefully protested & were massacred (Land Day 1976), they even peacefully protested continuously for over a year in Gaza in one of the worlds largest protests in human history & lsrael massacred them in 2018 (Great March of Return) 🗣️But surely there are other non-violent methods Palestinians could use? 🥷Stop telling Palestinians how to resist. South Africa didn't liberate itself from apartheid non-violently. Algeria didn't end NATO colonisation of their country non-violently. Vietnam didn't end America-NATO colonisation of their country non-violently. Afghanistan didn't end NATO colonisation of their country non-violently. Palestinians have a legal right to resist. 🗣️Palestinians have a legal right to resistance? 🥷Palestinians have the right to resist by any & all means necessary. This isn't opinion, this is international law, as outlined in UN Resolution 3246. The resolution reaffirms the legitimacy of people's struggle for liberation from colonial & foreign domination by all available means, including armed struggle 🇵🇸🇱🇧🇾🇪🇿🇦🌎
