That's more or less how it happens i nearly happened to me on my 2012 road King classic doing a U turn and the front wheel or end got stuck in some gravel it's also common if you're reversing backwards and your feet slip from underneath you it doesn't take much gravel on a road next thing you can't hang onto the weight of these bikes and they fall sideways it's much better than hitting a car travelling at a speed keep on riding her and practising you can only get better and more confident peace from Australia 🦘🌏

Awesome scenic ride. im planning on cutting a rectangular shape opening on lower 9 inch flared shield on batwing fairing like setup u have. Do you get any helmet buffeting? Im thinking about opening to reduce negative air. any thoughts thanks Ride safe

@@168meister what kind of bike are you riding? It might work - so many factors that go into play of course. I personally don’t experience helmet buffeting, but I did add an 8 inch Klockwerks flare windshield. The stock windshield has the wind hitting me right in the face shield. It wasn’t buffering but I couldn’t open my visor at speed. I did a video on the windshield here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGram3-nd5d1l9U

@revfree Thx for the fast reply brother, I have the 24 Chief Bobber dark horse 116 and upgraded everything to the Super chief, I installed the floorboards, saddles, orignal dual seats have the original 23.5 inch windshield, but replaced it with the 18inch freedom but noticed some buffeting. But went and ordered the Memphis shade batwing fairing with their 9inch curved windshield along with their batwing windshield deflectors and also added their for mounted wind deflectors too. With the Memphis, it does have little buffeting on top of my head, so the latest I did was pulled the windshield out little bit hoping the the curve windshield would flow over my top of helmet if that makes sense. Hmm? Just trying to see if either just drilling two or three 2 inch holes at lower center bottom of windshield would help to eliminate the negative air behind windshield. sorry for the rant, any suggestions would help thx

You just have the plug in port at the bottom of the jacket and then wires coming out of the cuffs for the gloves. Like I said, i rode in 32 degrees for an hour and my hands never got even chilly. By the way, if the scratches on the bags aren't through the clear coat and into the primer, a more aggressive compound, some wet sanding, then a polish with a buffer, will get them out totally. @@revfree If you're going to paint, you need to paint the entire bag that has the damage. It looks like its just the part of the bag that opens, that has the damage. You will need to paint that entire part. You must use a scuff pad to go over the entire part that needs paint. No gloss should be left. Or you can use 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper to scuff the part. For scuffing, you can do it wet or dry. If the scratch is into the primer, use a primer after scuffing and make sure where the scratch is, is very smooth and level with the rest of the bag. You will probably need 2 cans of color and two cans of clear. You don't have to wet sand between coats. You only need to wet sand the clear coat once it is dry. Then compound with a buffer and end with polishing also with a buffer. Here's a link for the paint www.specialistpaints.com/

The factory uses so much lock-tite. I almost burst into flames(or broke down in tears) when I couldn't get my shift controls back on because of damaged threads. I had to take a deep breath, relax and get a 3/8-16 tap to clear the things up. Very nerve-wracking when you're dealing with the frame thread inserts. I'm not a doctor but it is very nice to have patience. BTW, the Bung King bar at least for me is too far forward to make it a comfortable highway peg for the legs. Totally agree, I'm out to get away from everything not look at my phone. Yes it's in my pocket but only as a safety measure. While we are on the subject of safety, helmets are designed to keep us safe. Once you start putting on the camera and Bluetooth attachments you have now compromised your safety. Helmets are made to absorb impact, rotational force and slide without gripping the ground to possibly break your neck. Seems counter intuitive to attach things to it.

Big bike, gravel, too slow, lost balance. Luckily I doubt any damage to this bike
@revfree
@revfree 12 күн бұрын
@@VeraArms-tk3ru the gravel made the bike slide out. Probably shouldn’t have tried to lean in the soft dirt! It’s definitely scratched up but not too bad in the long term.

There's a great difference between an experienced rider and a non-experience rider too many of you guys out there wanting to be bikers that probably shouldn't be on a bike.

What a dick comment. On any day, any one of us... Maybe thoughts are on something else, maybe just not thinking and used to asphalt, so muscle memory, kicks in and down she goes when you're not expecting it. Grow up - and don't be a dick. And if/when you drop yours, I doubt you'll post it.

I know how you feel mate, I recently dropped my new SG ST doing a slow U turn on a slop, the bike actually landed on me and injured myself. I still feel like a rookie and embarrassed, even though my mates tell me that shit happens to us all and to forget about it. It actually knocked my confidence a little and I had to do practice U turns in my back yard on the lawn.

@@joe-cy4ol my brother, thank you so much for being real and sharing your experience. It really sucks that happened to you, and I hope your injury is healing! Think about it, though, if it had never happened, would you be out there practicing your U-turns and slow speed maneuvers? I feel like these things, although they hurt the ego in the moment, are actually helpful to keep us alive as they wake us up and inspire us to be better. I know it woke me up, for sure! I appreciate you and I thank you so much! Ride safe, my brother!! 🤙🏍️🏍️

First riding season in five years since I bought my Harley Road King that I didn't drop it. All drops were just moving it unpowered twice while putting it on the jiffy stand on unstable surfaces... happens to the best of us.

I dropped my slim one time due to a women not paying attention. Hit me from behind No guards at the time but my left leg managed to save (near a curb so I put my left foot on the curb and managed to hold it with a straight leg, pushed it enought to put the stand down.) most of it except for a little bit under the primary,derby cover.
