This was before I moved to Plainfield but I wish I could have had a 15 cent burger. They finally tore down that Speedway Burger Chef building. The weird thing about that I found out was the night manager lady used to work at the Plainfield Burger Chef where I went to eat.

When I was an awe-stricken kid of 12, my dad took me by K-BOX because I had been bitten by the radio bug and wanted to be on-the-air....we didn't live in Dallas, but the radio station captured my imagination when I first heard it in 1959 and 1960. They had the coolest people on the air and that reverb is something I've always loved. This radio station was an innovator before KLIF. It actually served to shakeup the Dallas market and cause KLIF to become great too. There won't be exciting radio, news and weather like there was back in the days of K-BOX ---those were great days!

I miss WIBC when it was playing music on the 1070 AM 50,000-watt side along with Indy 500 😐

The Hot FM was really great in the 90s. One of the best stations. I remember when you could barely get 96.3 before it increased power, and they were in a mobile home beside the pottery in Morehead City. Greg, Rick and Crystal!

No audio sadly and it would have been a favorite cause I’m sure I was listening to it on that day! I’m betting Lighthouse Pretty Lady was playing…..I had graduated from Mentor High school a month before and was heading off to CWRU in a few months. Also I bet Hall and Oates Rich Girl was playing !!! Just special songs for that Summer….
