What an awesome idea!! I was just looking at your channel info page and I feel the same way about rocks, and about chronic pain and health issues. They have brought me so much joy and healing. Happy to have found your channel! Hello from Michigan, Annie

The friends that get these trudge thru the woods quite a ways and into a ravine. They haul these out of there. Lots of work!

Kat they look very nice now :) Beware of new ceramic media. I made this mistake -> I did not first tumble the media to soften the edges. They only hurt my tumbling experience because I did NOT tumble the media first by their self. Lesson learned for me !
@katsmith5529 ай бұрын
Oh noooooo. Yes we think the ceramic dented and scratched. Can’t decide whether to take them back to stage two on the rough grit, or to go back to 500 aluminum oxide with the walnut and no media and then the thousand.

What are these?

These are Petoskey Stones. Michigan State Stone named after Chief Petosagey who owned land that had a lot of these stones.

Hello Kat. I can say I never seen anyone get a good shine on petoskey stones unless they use a "Dry Corn Cob Method" or run them on a $5000 lapidary machine. I find fossils all the time in Lake Michigan and some just never shine. They are to soft and porous. I am sure you tumbled hard rocks such as quartz and agates "they shine very well in a tumbler" Knowing they don't shine well, I think Yours look amazing 🤩
@katsmith5529 ай бұрын
Ty so much! I am going to scrub them good soak in clean water the let them dry and then its into a crock pot w oil a friend did this and they hold their shine for jewelry.
