Brilliant documentary

In my eyes, these two guys Robert Mitchum and Dean Martin look like twins to me. I always thought they looked alike. What I would do to turn the clock back again when they made these movies. I feel so blessed that I grew up in that error as a kid. I got the best part of life watching it. Those memories will keep me alive.

I'm no fan of organised crime, but Sinatra was a loyal friend to those who had helped him. He stuck by them, and to me that makes him an honourable man. The fifties' 'Rat Pack' was a great idea -- talented men who banded together and entertained people .. I don't see and can't imagine any modern day equivalent to them.

At 10:50 Dean Martin mentions a movie he did with Marlon Brando called The Young Lions . I read that DM credits his success in that post Jerry Lewis dramatic movie to Brando helping him . On the other hand I read that Frank Sinatra had done an earlier movie with Brando called Guys and Dolls and had a strong dislike for Brando for various reasons while DM got along fine with Brando . I am surprised that Sinatra even allowed the mention of The Young Lions and Marlon Brando on HIS show !

They set the precedent for .. boy bands.. they were talented though.. all of them. Put Las Vegas on the map....they added comedy, sketches, and entertainment...movies, clubs, ....had the women.. and supported musicians who got their break..

WOW. That's the ultimate meaning of "the good ole days" Post war years between 1945 and the 1970. That's only 25 years where so much happened in those 25 years. Before the beginning of the current state of affairs.

How I loved the rat pack and miss them. Especially, the chairman of the board

The word "Legend" is thrown around today as if it were a bit of street talk or a tag to describe anybody who's basically done anything of note, but these people became legit legends in their lifetime, and today haven't lost one ounce of their legendary status. This was close to 80 years ago - their individual careers began sooner of course, but these people are bone fide legends. Sinatra's name in particular is one of the most "legendary" in all of the entertainment industry, and that won't change. 80 years from now when we're all gone and mostly forgotten, these people will still be legends. Centuries after their deaths, Wagner, Mozart, Van Gogh, Da Vinci...still spoken about, and the same will be true of the Rat Pack as they broke the mould, and it's only fitting that history remembers them.

I love Dean but the man never changed his act one iota in like 40 years. "Direct from the bar....DEAN MARTIN!!!....Drink to me only...that's all I aks....ASK.... Followed by "Bourbon from Heaven," yada yada yada...I could recite it in my sleep. Pretty tired routine that they could have freshened up maybe at least once in the course of 40 years.

Dean Martin and Petula Clark were THE dream team of popular music. They were just so incredibly comfortable with each other and when they sang together you recognised that your were totally enjoying two of the biggest legends that there has ever been. They blended so incredibly well together and were just beyond brilliant with there wonderful routines. What a great,great shame that they never made a Album or at least a single together. It would have made Number One in the UK and USA charts ,of that I am sure.

I worked in LV where Frank and the rat pack were at the Sands Hotel and when Frank was in town there was no other show people wanted to go to see the same with Elvis. I met them both and miss this time never to return again and when Frank dog was hit by a car he was so angry and sad.
