Me and the gf went hiking the crack couple years back and on our way back home, we saw a wolf on the road not sure if it was sick or had been injured somehow, its jaw was crooked it just stood on the road as we slowly drove past it,was cool to see but sad that it had that issue

Eastern wolves look very similar to coyotes, but are larger. We are collect scat for dna analysis so hopefully we will get a confirmation. Check out our canids of killarney video. It shows tagged eastern wolves and these and many of the others look the same. Could be wolf hybrids though.

How can you tell it's an eastern wolf vs eastern coyote? I don't see a radio collar on the animal. Just curious.
@wildkillarney2 ай бұрын
Good question? We are trying to learn more from researchers who specialize in it which will be great for a later video. That being said for us it's the fur color and size. This one looks exactly the same as the collared one in our canids of killarney video. A while ago there was a eastern wolf that had been dna tested going up to cars in the area and this fella has the exact some color and markings (reddish fur and thicker more square jaw). Finally the tracks are much larger than say a coyote. Hope that helps!
