I recall seeing that episode. I have the full collection of Midnight Special DVD's. The DVD that features Little Feat does not have the performance of Willin'. I distinctly remember viewing the Feat's performance of that song when the program was broadcast.

I missed Feat. Acquaintances knew a piece of dirt that was as healthy as Bowie at 80 lbs & sold Lowell his last Oz(±) of Rock & he died the next night in Bal'mer, I think. But I was taping from the Sndbd at Adams at 1 of the very 1st Blues Busters [& as a Duet still: Paul & Catfish H] Shows. Big tears fell when Paul said "I wrote this for Bonnie-she didn't want it so WE did it" 'I been dow-ow-own but not like this be-fo-ore. Beautiful. Hodge sang well I just tired of yodeling & it was like a Wake of course. When Paul said "This is for Lowell; wherever you are" into a sweet Willin': 'I been warped by the rain...' BIG tears fell🥀🌧️💧🌹. That was 1 of the Best Live Shows I've ever been to & in all honesty Adams was a short time span longitude for such a great venue in bookings. Paul & Catfish did material from both catalogs w/a focus on the Paul/pre & post Feat Trx: 'On My Own Two', 'Real Lies', et al & that'd be on both of those Blues Busters' Landslide LPs w/help from The Feat, Dregs, associated members.

The guys in Little Feat were so in the pocket. Damn. For the gear geeks, Lowell's nice Dumble amp on stage is now Joe Bonamassa's.

That's what Lowell gave them. One of my biggest losses was losing Lowell George. Little Feat got me through more than one rough year. Dixie Chicken,Fat man in the bathtub. Great band. And Billy Paine on piano. If you give me weed, whites and wine and you show me a sign I be willing to be movin

This Midnight Special is INCREDIBLE. Especially if you were 16 when it aired. All the artists are my roots. Especially Little Feat and Bonnie. Jesse Winchester is the greatest talent very few have heard of. Love this one ❤🤙🤙

Great set of a short but historic tour. The sad thing about board tapes (for me, at least) is how vocals overpower instruments, since you're missing some volume of the backline- the guitar/keyboard etc amps and speakers at the back of the stage. I want Lowell's guitar in my face while he sings! ;^). But I'll still happily listen repeatedly to this recording. Thanks Earl!

I saw Little Feat, Ry Cooder & Captain Beefheart & his Magic Band play in Pasadena in 1970. Concert was put on by KPPC, an extremely influencial radio station and tickets were...$1.50.

As the saying goes "Those were the days." I was in my late twenties and playing bass in a band. This really brings it back. Gram Parson and Emmy Lou Harris were my gateway to country music and Little Feat is ---What is there to say that has not already been said. Bonnie Raitt will explode in the 1980s to a much broader audience.

Jesse Winchester just about stole the show with his dancing, that’s for sure. Audience applause was great. Then they put on Neil Young so everyone could go stand in line for the bathroom to shit. 😂

The Midnight Special KZbin Channel has been slowly releasing every episode and they are currently in April 1974 as of this comment. If they have this episode archived it should be uploaded in November 2024, so hopefully the theory will be confirmed!!

I saw Feat with Lowell 3 times: as special guests for Joe Cocker in '74, opening for Bonnie Raitt in '75, and in '78 on the "Waiting for Columbus" tour. The most amazing thing: I came through the backdoor of the venue in time to catch Lowell & Bonnie doing a duet sound check-- before the doors opened. Was one of maybe 20-30 people in the room hearing this!😮 Damn, we miss you, Lowell!
