This is the crack of all portfolio videos. Weird euphemism, sorry. I appreciate and respect your grind and ambition very much.

The most important user point of 'social anxiety' was not even a part of the initial flows. The initial flow was just a replica of any other social media app. Also, usually interviewers don't give this much info such as the entire premise of users, pain points - these are something that the interviewee comes up with in a real life scenario. Everything about the user persona was given by the interviewer which never happens.

Art world is a different game lol. If you’re sure you want to pursue design school there is no use taking classes that don’t help you with your portfolio. Unless it’s AP art there’s no use

The best part about your video other than the amazing tips I learnt was that it was actually like an interview with a client. Most of the other videos available have just a single person explaining it and assuming things.

where did you study ux design
@sharonyeunkim12 күн бұрын
I went to Parsons but they didn’t major in UX. So I learned it at an online bootcamp called Springboard during a gap year. If you’re interested feel free to use my code SHARONKIM for $1K off that class

I am very excited to take the course through you, but I have some questions at the beginning. I am from Palestine and I currently live in Gaza and I am displaced in the south due to the war. I work in the field of design and I learned user experience and started working in it about 3 years ago, but I hope to develop in this field through someone with experience, but my question is: . I am not good at English and I think that I will face this problem with you as a trainer. My language is Arabic. Will I be able to avoid this barrier through the course? . Can I start the course at a reduced price for a few hours so that I can make sure that I understand the requirements and interact with you so that I do not lose all the money? As you know, I need every dollar in this war, although I do not know whether I will live until I finish the course or whether a new evacuation emergency will occur and I will be cut off from the course due to the poor internet and electricity we have Can we talk via WhatsApp: +970567213372

I am an experienced designer and one thing that wasn’t addressed here is, companies are only hiring UX Designers as contractors. Six month contracts are the norm. High hour wage but no salary long term jobs in this field.

Yes, most of the jobs that you can get on contract jobs. It's the same with Web Development jobs

There’s a lot of factors but yes sometimes making a harder decision may be more necessary if that applies :/

Click baity in the sense you brought the house with your brother, not on your own, as even a low six figure income by itself won't get you a house in New York. I brought my house at 35 by myself in the LA area, including down payment of 15%. Things were a lot cheaper back then, but that is only about 12 years ago. I did have PMI but because the property appreciated I was able to get rid of that in a couple years.

wow so many amazing takeaways from both you and julia!! i loved julia's critique on spending less time on more general screens like onboarding (it sounds so obvious but ive NEVER thought about that) and articulating intention and non-intentions of the screens!! also your point on approaching challenges as a consultant rather than a designer totally reframed how i view whiteboarding thanks so much for making content like this accessible❤

i am a junior in college studying electronics and comp sci and it has been so overwhelming having to decide what field to go in and two years have already gone by and i still do not know and it feels like i have wasted so much time. I am fascinated by ux design a lot but don't know how to go about it. If someone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. This video was really good and informative !
