Great video but you missed a few key points. 1. They were Kanak people from Kanakah Rußia and settled in Schwarzenau Germany. Meaning at that time they were Black people. Baptist originally was a method used by aboriginies to initiate someone into their tribe and issue them their nickname "Nikker-Nama". Therefore it was never intended for children and only a Godparent was allowed to initiate the process. Godchild and Baptist are synonyms.🥸

To bad it is somewhat Historically inaccurate. Tecumseh was born just outside of Black Fish's Town. Where Old Town was established on rt 68. I can take you to almost the exact spot. Second Pique Town was not, what we would call the capital. That was always where the Principal Chiefs home Town was. Which at the time would of been Black Fish. Now it has been said a 12 -13 year old Tecumseh was there most likely yes. Which leads to another point, most of the Shawnee in Pique Town were women and children and the older men. Most of the Shawnee fighting forces were up at Molunthas Town on the Mad river just outside of present day West Liberty, Lead by the War Chief Blue Jacket.

Thank you for the memories; way before my time but I loved it. Here are a few important details I like to add to your video. Ava Gardner was nominated for Best Actress in MOGAMBO 1953. She had 3 BAFTA best actress nominations for 1956 Bhowani Junction, On The Beach for 1959 and The Night Of The Iguana 1964. For The San Sebastián Film Festival she got awarded Best Actress for The Night Of The Iguana 1964. I feel that we gladly heard of Chuck Yeager accomplishment and we certainly need to hear the same about Miss Gardner. Lastly; Ernest Hemingway relationship with Miss Gardner was base on love, respect, admiration and almost a father figure….. they were not lovers. Thank you. AMF

I found this video because I recently discovered that my 5th-great half-uncle (my 6th great-grandfather's half-brother) fought at this battle; he was part of the column led by Rogers himself that moved through the open field. My question is, from what cardinal direction did that group attack? The map featured at 2:38 is unclear on this, since I don't see any specification as to which way is north. Any help would be much appreciated, and thank you for this video!

Thank you for sharing this bodacious "blast from the past" ! I didn't even know Cary Grant had ever had a regular radio program til reading about it recently in a biography of him. That book mentioned it only lasted one season, which may have been due to it's high costs (Cary's fee was quite high & his wife and co-star Betsy had a stuttering problem, causing many retakes). And interesting that the sponsor was TWA, which was owned by Cary's good friend Howard Hughes. As I recall, many huge Hollywood stars starred in weekly radio shows in the 50s, towards the end of radio's heydey (three examples would be Jimmy Stewart in "The Six Shooter", Bogart & Bacall in "Bold Venture" & Tyrone Power in "Freedom USA").

Very informative, but actually immersion didn't come from the Anabaptists. There may have been some early exceptions (which I'd be interested to learn more about), but as a general rule, all Anabaptists have practiced adult baptism by pouring.
@salyluz6535
@salyluz6535 Жыл бұрын
Increasingly, more and more Anabaptists prefer immersion, as it is now understood to be the earliest form of baptism. Baptizing where water is limited, when someone is ill/hospitalized/dying, or in areas under religious persecution may still need to be done by different methods- the Lord is merciful and looks on our hearts. But I continue to hear more testimonies coming from very diverse groups and nations, who have become convicted that immersion was the earliest and New Testament mode of baptism. I’m surprised by the unrelated groups of people whom I’ve heard choosing trine immersion! Complete immersion, three times in a row, is still used as a mikvah bath for converts to Judaism, and for other acts of spiritual dedication. Many historians see this as the historical roots of New Testament Baptism.
@Kneißle
@Kneißle Жыл бұрын
@@salyluz6535 yes, I know some of the more liberal groups of Mennonites give immersion as an option now. I've wondered how the early Anabaptists settled on pouring.

Don’t most of us at one time or another have the sin of pride in one form or another? Sin is a constant battlefield as long as we live in a world where Satan likes to rule. My great grandparents came from Pennsylvania to Stark Co. Ohio to St. County Indiana. They were OldGerman Baptist. They were related to the Christian Wenger family also from Pa. They started a church in South Bend and later help build a bigger one. My great-grandfather was a teacher /preacher there in the first church. I have been trying to find the history of the church. I was raised in a E.U.B. Church,baptized triune style face forward. I would like to know more. I remember talk about Camp Mack.

The three captors have been maligned, largely by Maj. Benjamin Tallmadge who fell under the spell of Andre and believed Andre’s characterizations of the militiamen. They were accomplished soldiers who turned down enormous personal gains. Instead, they stayed true to the American cause and turned Andre over to their superiors. In fact, John Paulding was the only one of the three that could read . He understood the importance of the papers that were found. The three received the first medals ever authorized by Congress, and received personal gifts from Washington commemorating their fidelity to the new country.

The clothing is about no vanity, about keeping separate from The World (be in it but not of it.) it’s about holding on to an identity that is a constant reminder that the Body of Christ is One, and about frugality.

I grew up in a Old German Baptist home and they always refer to the special clothes as a Uniform. They would equate their Uniform to Police Uniforms or military uniforms as a symbol of being a member of those organizations. They have some bible verse that they base the wearing of uniform on but not sure now what it is. They don't see the Uniform as giving salvation but it is part of the requirements of being a member of the OGB church so to some but not all of them feel that salvation is only possible by being in good standing with the OOGB church.
