Loved this interview and really enjoyed hearing Brian‘s take, he was a great guest. Seems like a pretty incredible leader.

I do get the your are "just a CSM" feeling. How do we overcome that? At our company, CSMs own everything after initial sale...meaning relationship and renewal. We also push the upsells and expansion, but our sales team reaps the rewards of those via their pay structure. I agree with the format of your company. Love the "reap the rewards of my work" and "rolling back the messaging from sales" comments from Nicole.

Sometimes the functionality follows the tech. Look at most major scientific discoveries in the 20th century. In almost all cases the discovery (eg the tech) precedes the application. To quote Socrates (and not Donald Rumsfeld), there are unknown unknowns!

So many great nuggets here. I love the comment about using AI to translate between the problem the customer is trying to solve and how the technology solves it. There’s always a gap between the two and GenAI is perfect to address it.

Fantastic episode guys! Living in Atlanta I once got to go to a coke taste test for $$$. Got a hundred bucks to taste probably around 20 different versions of coke.

Great episode! Oh and on the accurate, clean, current, ai-driven data discussion... there's a little company called Informatica for that, perhaps a bit biased ;)

This was such a blast to record. Thanks for having me on the show! Josh we held down the fort - but definitely made fun of the king while he was away from the castle.

TJ... decidedly the improv GOAT. Let's make sure we give a shout out to the other Sonic guy Peter Gross, who imo owns the ASSSSCAT show at UCBD even among some real giants of improv!

I have stressed the importance of retention since my first book in 2009. I have even recommended that startups have a retention strategy in place before they get their first customers. Thus, why in my Strategic Customer Cycle² the Retaining Strategy stage is first. Love Catalyst methodology! His brother's story is so impactful!
