A notable concern is the lack of critical discussion around institutions like the FISA court, where issues of transparency and constitutional rights-particularly the Fourth Amendment-are often overlooked or superficially addressed. Hearing individuals associated with the school speak on such matters, especially clerks or staff, gives the impression of unearned authority. The casual justification of questionable practices, such as the rubber-stamping of FISA requests, is deeply unsettling. It’s alarming how detached these conversations can be from the lived realities of those impacted, particularly non-citizens, who seem to have little to no recourse. This review isn’t just about the curriculum but also about fostering an environment that critically examines power structures and trains its graduates to uphold justice in meaningful ways. Unfortunately, that seems to be lacking here.
