If Jesus meant fornication as a means of being adultery then Phillip and Herodias marriage would have been over after the adultery, incest, divorce and remarriage to King Herod. John the Baptist would had never been murdered for continuing to shout its unlawful for you to have your brother Phillip wife. Notice, he didn't say you can't have your brother Phillip's ex-wife. Which would have meant that the fornication (adultery) ended the one flesh covenant union. No longer two but one flesh, wherefore what God has joined together man can not separate. Jesus was literally taking about fornication in the sense of in engagement period in Jewish society where had Mary been guilty of fornication Joseph could have ended the engagement and then got engaged to another and went through to the one flesh covenant union. If we use the example of scripture we will not steer anyone wrong. Several times in scripture the word fornication and adultery is this within the same sentence. When I Look up the word fornication in the Greek which is the word for pornia in the definition adultery and incest was later added because it wasn't in the additional definition because of the parentheses. It's interesting to note that when you look up the word adultery in the Greek it's the definition doesn't even include incest but yet that's exactly what Herodias did to Philip with his half-brother King Herod. When scripture speaks on a subject matter we must use the example that the scripture use to give and understanding because scripture is the best commentary on scripture.

It's built using the schedule from lutherancatechesis.org. And yes, it is great for families! We send a half-sheet version home with everyone on Sunday and all our school families, too!
