Was just there two weeks ago , there’s about 2 of 10 people who walk the beach fully naked. Others just lay naked on there towel but too shy to walk the entire beach naked. Some hotels are clothing optional on beach i remained naked at Budamar Hotel in pool area restaurant and on beach lounger beds and chairs . Believe me there’s a ton of people there just like being naked . Best Mexican beach place i have ever been . Everyone is super chill and friendly in Zipolite . A great place thats not full of touristy retail shops like other resort towns . This is more authentic mexico with a legal nude beach . Will head back in a few months .Night market every night after 6pm and safer than most places I’ve travelled to.

Hola EZ! Isn’t it a great location!? You wouldn’t recognise it anymore - actually I would suggest holding onto your memories from 25 years ago and avoid going back. I went in 2013 and was amazed at the laid back / undiscovered beach vibe and very few tourists. The sandy-dirt roads are mostly cement now. And it’s overrun with gringos / the charm is being lost (if not lost already). Still a beautiful spot, but not what it once was.
