I feel like this fight is more important than some of the others. This is really the first time Ryo was put in a position where he had very little reason to show mercy. He 'just' witnessed this woman kill another man, and he's in a position where it's kill, or be killed. Precisely the kind of situation he would be put under if he were to fight Lan Di. Despite being in the obvious position of power over someone who does not deserve mercy under any circumstance, he still refuses to ultimately kill her, and proceeds with his investigation. Stilted voice acting aside, it's the glimmer of humanity in Hazuki's path of revenge, that maybe he'll spare Lan Di even if he beats him, and stop the cycle of violence. ... But we'll just have to see, if Suzuki will ever get his story finished.
