Ironically mining has both stabilized and destabilized cities worldwide both above and below the surface.

Dan, I looked at your photo essay "Book" Gramp -- a True story about living with dying" many times when i was in college in 1976. it wasn't even a book really just loose, printed plates inside a plastic bag, with your story comments at the bottom. This had great impact on me even back then at age 18. Now I'm 66 and my father just died and went through nearly same story. I own a copy and share it with anyone who comes over. How can I get in touch with you to thank you?

Wow, VERY interesting! From coins to teaching to rare coins to a railroad empire. That 2102 loco was a true labor of love and a sight to behold in person. Congrats, Andy. I hope to visit someday soon. Cheers from Camden, NY. Bob

D.A.R.E.'S subliminal programming was to suppress trauma and decimate mind to drugs and alcohol. It took me breaking free from that, to get sober. That happened when I learned how media uses colors to program is subliminally.

My best memory is seeing the Badlees at WZZO in Allentown...Bret used a Yuengling beer bottle as a slide for his guitar neck while laying down Copperhead Road. Simply Amazing!!!!

This documentary is awesome. I’ve visited Hazleton because many generations of my wife’s family are buried there. It’s an interesting town. While anthracite is the main player, many historical events happened above ground in that region. For example, Hazleton was an early adopter of Edison’s electric lights in 1884. More recently, one of the first places in America to have cable television in 1949. Cable’s birthplace is in Mahaney City which is 13 miles south west of Hazleton. There is always a dark side to history like the 1895 Lattimer Massacre. Anyway, the people are friendly and the pizza is good. Be respectful when visiting.

The history of this club and how their events inspire is so true. Teaching kids about flying R/C planes can spark a lifelong passion and even lead them to become pilots. Amazing documentaries like this showcase why clubs and events like these are incredibly special and impactful.
