Unusual for a Scania Double Decker to operate a 861 to and from Glen Osmond normally it would only operate on routes T840, T843 and 840X only

it wouldnt be at all, torrens transit are not allowed todo that route. probably a bus sent to busways due to a shortage. for example , torrens transit have a artic 2823.

@@willyg4917 2823 should have be renumbered as 823 by removing the 2 at the front like with the other Scania buses Actually it was no. 1984 not 1985 with 948012

it is based at EDN north depot. 2823 is still its number on the side and paperwork @@RegexGreen817

The engine sounds would scare me when I was in primary school - early 90s. It's loud and aggressive.

I took some seat bases out and ran my tripod through the frames of the seat Wasn't perfect but did the job

Excellent video-thanks for posting. Would be happy to see more. Bad luck about 1391 having to be towed back to Port Depot. Yesterday Port Depot Artic 1005 broke down on Oaklands Road not far from Morphettville Depot, and also had to be towed back to Port Depot.

Sounds like it has a Renk Doromat 874 H gearbox. I could hear a faint Voith noise, but, it was said that in 1988, the gearbox would shift lower betweeen 2nd-3rd gear for better economy.

Certainly has a Voith, seen the trans for myself, let alone having driven it many times since. Beautiful beast, but I still prefer a ZF.

Can’t remember the last time I’ve been on one of the sl202’s especially after they got rid of a lot of them.
