Excellent. Thanks for reminding me about the value of this book . Suggestion- you CAN play three bars of time / beat for # 68 and 69 , just play them as a one measure phrase using 32nd notes . . I’d love to see you do this , if you are game . Thanks

Excellent lesson. I go through the same exercises with all my students for years. Nothing better than the syncopation book. It can be used in so many ways. 👍🏻🥁👍🏻

In the first exercise where the accent falls on the first 16th of the first measure, it appears you omit the “e” of beat 1 when you perform the fill. Am I seeing/hearing this correct?
@jeffdrumming1
@jeffdrumming1 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Troy! Thanks for watching the videos. I'm actually playing the "e" of 1 as a double stroke on the snare. Since the first note is a 16th note and every note after that is a 32nd note (16ths doubled) there will be a small space between the accents and doubles. I hope this helps!

By the way..you are one of the most underated drum teachers/player on here..I don't care about microphones or excellent sounding drums,not that yours don't do that,but the 60 second lesson is perfect for people who want to learn more..I actually stopped watching videos where people talk to much..I already know it's about playing smooth,confident and slow.Thank you for just cutting the crap and we'll just play..keep it up

Great idea to add this kind of stuff in. So important for drummers to know what is going on in the music. You can't support the other instruments if you don't know what they are doing.

It really helps to hear the fill in the shuffle context; it shows what you can do musically with these exercises.

The motion you showed at the end is how I used to play flams, you called them 'rock style flams' I think. They are fun but it is really tough to properly play rudiment exercises, snare solos, or marching type stuff without the proper technique you showed in this video.
