Hey y’all! Wow I didn’t know this video existed! I’m the whistle player on this track. With my friend Kevin Scott Joiner on the guitar. This track is originally off my album The Steps to Home by Sean Hoffman and Nolan Ladewski. (kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6eUg4VvoJ2crqc) - I learned the first tune from Kieran O’Hare’s self titled solo album. It’s a Scottish tune called The Earl of Hyndford (thesession.org/tunes/16084) (Here is a video i made for a student a few years back ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppjTf6iEgZmmldE ) -The second is an original tune of mine called A Pocketful of Lint. I recorded these same two tunes with a larger ensemble on Kennedy’s Kitchen’s album A Pocketful of Lint ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWnPqZ2Dp7apo5o). And here are a few more videos made a while ago for a student who was learning this tune. Yep! I picked that out too, it sounds like they mostly play in unison except for a couple small harmonies.

@@valleyoftheheart I imagine it is to be able to catch air. When one catches air the other one continues playing and the sound stop is not perceived
