You certainly didn’t go off the beaten track did you? Salvage even Greenspond in Bonavista Bay comes to mind. Great places To get away from it all. There are many others, however, salvage, and the area and towns around it are a favourite of CFA’s from the US. They are not advertising, though . They don’t particularly want to share a good thing.

As a native Nova Scotian, we don’t exactly get why everyone outside the province talks about Lunenburg. Nice place but doesn’t deserve all the attention. Too many other nice places in NS.

Move to Nova Scotia. We have lots of nice warm tents for sale or rent. Did you say you like paying taxes? We have a great one for you. Halifax water, the corrupt organization that provides tap water and sewer, for a fee of course, now serves the outlying areas that are too far from the main city to install all of that pesky, expensive infrastructure now has a better way of serving your bank account. They now bill you for the rain water that falls from the sky and drains into the ditch. The very same ditch that was placed on either side of nearly every road in the province by DMV. We pay for road maintenance on our vehicle registration, with the taxes on our fuel, with the municipal portion of your property tax and now with Halifax water's new ditch tax. Just another way to extort money out of you for a service that they don't even provide. Ditch tax... For the rain water that falls from the sky. Nova Scotia Canada. A great place to live if you want to be bled dry. If you have a savings account, moving here will deplete it.

The interesting part is; The darker the sand - The more radioactive it is. For instance some of the black beaches in South America will make your geiger counter go nuts. Shouldn't be dangerous according to what they say since it's natural radiation.

Great video. And kudos for including ᕿᑭᖅᑖᓗᒃ (Qikiqtaaluk), or Baffin Island. The two most picturesque communities are Pangnirtung and Pond Inlet. Of course, Iqaluit is a must as it is the departure point to all other communities. Clyde River is great for whale watching, while Cape Dorset is famous for the arts & crafts. Lived there for two years and worked in every Baffin community. Loved it!!!!

Not sure where the Nova Scotia stats are from but lunenburg has very expensive real estate just like Chester, getting around town in the summer by car a nightmare due to the crowds. Cape Breton, beautiful for sure but the winters are not so nice. Best check out the South Shore from Bridgewater to Yarmouth. Property prices are still somewhat reasonable and it's the warmest location in Canada east of BC. Very little snow in the winter but quite a bit of rain and overcast. Healthcare in most places in Nova Scotia leaves a lot to be desired.

I am born and raised on the West Coast. Vancouver and Vancouver Island have been my home my entire life. I have been from North of the Charlottes to Victoria and back many many times as well as all across BC, NWT, and the Yukon. It's beautiful and rugged with mountain ranges, lakes, and a vast open ocean. If the outdoors and wilderness is your thing, BC is for you. If you like culture and history, the east coast is for you. The Eastern seaboard has Architecture, a long maritime history, and many wonderful things to see and do. Saying one is in any way better than the other is like comparing apples and oranges. They can not be compared. They are just different. I, after almost 60 years in BC I prefer the East Coast. That said, most people I grew up with aren't like me. They wanted to stay. So, everyone is different.
@AllThingsOcean2 жыл бұрын
Fully agree! They can not really be compared, as they are 2 different vibes completely. It's personal preference - I myself was born and raised on the West Coast also, but I think the East is just as beautiful in different ways :) Canada is gorgeous no matter which side of the country you're on.

Let’s throw a wrinkle in this. Grew up on the west coast, love it. Spent some time in the maritimes, very nice and full of culture. But the Arctic Ocean off the north coast of Ellesmere Island was breathtaking throughout the year. Best part about serving in the Canadian Forces, you get to see Canada!
