Adding on to Venket's points, if a firm is looking for an exit, they have to prepare well in advance to get a good multiple. Some points are: 1) Financial performance - EBITDA, 2) Right positioning in a growth market so that the firm is attractive to the buyer. Strong moat 3) Recurring Vs. onetime cash flow 4) Strength of cash flow and reduced dependence on single sources - like key employees, dominant suppliers etc. 5) Capex to Opex ratio 6) NPS/Customer satisfaction 7) Good systems in place like - CRM, ERP, Automation etc.

Lovely session. Especially liked Venket's sum up in the 1st part that EBITDA & Cashflow improvement is not just about cost-cutting but about revenue optimization, productivity improvement etc.. The point I want to make is that all these levers have to be pulled together. Doing just one tactic in isolation rarely produces results. If we break it down - how can we increase the price, cut down the cost of operation and increase sales. Automation done the right way can both cut cost and increase sales but you have to get the GP/unit economics right before automating and increasing the sales. If you do the scaling before optimization, it is like amplifying the seepage & inefficiencies in the system. Here is a short video of "Profit in Advance" where I look at it tactically - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpCpiZWVg9uMl9U

When talking of RPA implementation, it is meaningless to discuss or point anything towards human resources. Organizations seldom develop resources or give them migration cooling/learning time in other processes. Pertinent question is do they have resources requirements in other processes? Obviously, when machine is replacing defined human activities, the headcounts have to go down, else RPA implementation is useless..

Such automation will be more helpful when there is demand. In such type of lockdown and demand very low, automation may not add much value, but increase costs.
