What is the name of the metallic rods used for supporting the boards?..Those ones that when removed, a hollow space is left inside the rammed wall.
@BangaloreFarmerАй бұрын
these are 10 - 12 mm threaded rods. Usually after removal, we need to fill in the hollow space, I have kept that open as at that time I had planned to conduct classes and see the impact.

This is a beautiful video of what a man can achieve if he puts his heart into it. Hats off Brother. Absolutely loved your wall with the mountains especially the ones on the lower level. Awesome!!!! What do you do about the holes formed by the rods that go through the wallnto hold the forms together please? Ibguess you fill it, but how, when and is it as strong as the rest of the wall? Also if you could make a video explaining how you manage to make tye mountains so beautifully with a height if 4 feet when each lift should be technically about 8 inches.compressed down to 5 or 6 inches?

Do we need to put beams at the doors n windows? What materials have you used for that
@BangaloreFarmer9 ай бұрын
Yes, you need some support. I used metal frames and then placed kadapa stone slab above that. The height above that is less than 2 ft, so this was okay. But if you are planning to have more height , then you need to look for stronger frame and reinforcement.

@@BangaloreFarmer I am wondering how the windows / doors will be managed in this type of construction? If you are using kadapa stone will the ramming on top of it not break the stone ? what is the thickness of metal frames you are using for windows so that it can take up the force of ramming

small suggestion, buy some tennis balls or cheaper foam balls in bulk & use them to cover the ends of those rods....for safety....
@BangaloreFarmer11 ай бұрын
They should have been cut to 1.5 ft , but since it will be a waste I did not cut them into smaller sizes, Thats why it's looking risky.

@@BangaloreFarmer What is the name of those rods?

Will the walls bare the weight of roofing made of steel frames and sheets?
@BangaloreFarmer11 ай бұрын
Yes, the walls are super strong. In case your roofing is concrete, you can also add columns to support.

Great work and I am sure you are thoroughly enjoying. Small clarification..what is the reason to use so high forms?. Will the labour/time be saved? Will it not be convenient or simple to keep using say might be 1-2 metres height? and then keep going up once the lower layers stabilise? Having such high walls to work at one go impair the compaction?
@BangaloreFarmer Жыл бұрын
its actually only 8ft high. I cut the plywood into half so that I can handle it alone. the choice is about convenience, in my case I wanted to set the frame just once (to save on labour time) and then finish the wall at one go. Doing it in smaller frames will mean additional work to safely place the structure on the below one.

Excellent 👌👍 brother it will be kind of you if you could share the tips to build the form for Rammed earth wall
@BangaloreFarmer Жыл бұрын
This to me was the most difficult work, because I used a 4x4 plywood and it was heavy to keep it in position. I struggled. Suggest to take help if needed from the centering team, or doing it patiently. I had Iron beams to protect the plywood from bulging when rammed. Just make holes at a .5 ft from edges and one at the center, use a threaded rod and C clamp to hold the iron beams Fill the bottom layer to 90 % and then work on the above form. Its rock solid after ramming and you can easily climb. Use width of 1 ft min. You can maintain this by cutting curtain rods into 1 ft and inserting inside the form. Note that the threaded rod has to pass through the curtain rods.

Why are you using bricks instead of rocks for fountain,am i missing something ?
@BangaloreFarmer Жыл бұрын
Great question! While using rocks for a foundation is a common practice, I chose to use red bricks for a specific reason in this project. 1. Easy to use for a solo work 2. Availability 3. I only wanted a no sink flat surface to build the wall
