And mountains mean there is less air to heat up by volume (as the mountains displace air).

Did you really need SIV training? What would that be, a "back to the basics" waxing lol

great video thank you. you mentioned theo showed you a way to reduce your riser distance on a harness that has them by default set too wide. my ozone solos light is not adjustable in the waist as it has a fixed sewn strap so the risers are about 48 cm apart which is way too wide for me. can you tell me how to reduce this width ? many thanks.

How'd that happen, wind turbulence?
@chrisstevens46802 ай бұрын
This might be misleading. Is this the whole video? He’s really referring to extreme SIV manoeuvres I would like to hear specifically which wings he is talking about, presumably he is talking about 2 liners. We have always been told to keep a little bit of pressure to feel for collapses etc. You are not in touch with it’s your wing if you fly totally hands off……….

Hi, I am a beginner paramotor student, 62 years old and 80kg. I have been advised the APCO F5 school version will be a good starter. Would you please give me your opinion? Can I use this wing for free flight also?

This was the scariest and hardness part of my training course but as beginners we went into opposite brake and weight shift almost immediately so it was relatively mild compared to this without a full rotation. Even when mild I can confirm it’s a very scary feeling and took me quite a full attempts to hold the collapse without my brain saying “are you f crazy?!” 😅😅

How come people don't put something in the wing to keep it from collapsing??
@urbanprotos562711 күн бұрын
The collapse is in this case poorly executed but nevertheless intended and wanted. In fact it is even safer to have a wing that can collapse if u have something so small like a paraglider. Because the most collapses happen when turbulent air pushes suddenly down on a glider, now imagine a stiff wing which would just start dive to one side because it could not "dodge" the force of the down streaming air

Good spot on the feet down. That's speaks of been there done that. What a recovery but how does the foil collapse like that in first place?
@MrKakaofreak4 ай бұрын
I was wondering too but maybe its intentional to train for that situation
@FlyingKarlis4 ай бұрын
Yes, this was done on purpose to train pilots on how to exit auto-rotation. In the wild, this scenario can occur when you experience a large collapse, and your wingtip gets a cravat or a line tangle, causing the wing to pull you into auto-rotation. We simulate this situation in our SIV courses to train pilots on how to exit auto-rotation effectively, and to help them become comfortable with uncomfortable situations.
