PAC-12 should try to grab Texas State

What hurts the PAC trying to get any eastern schools is that they don't have better media deal than they currently have. Schools can't pay bills on possible Media deals.

On what planet is CSU a top 4 MWC school?

As a Memphis fan, i am aittle.shocked by this decision. I think it has to be either about money or hoping the ACC comes calling. For all of the talk that y'all said about the american being a down conference, It still pays tremendously more than any other group of five conference. The new pac doesn't have a media deal yet. When you add all the travel cost, is joining a new conference for money worth it? I guess that's what they were asking themselves. I am disappointed though
@umbluegray13 сағат бұрын
As a Tiger fan I'm bummed, too. But if the financials don't makes sense, then I get the decision. Best of luck to SDSU and the revived PAC-12.

The PAC is paying several millions per MWC school but only offered $2.5M toward our buyout. Our expected buyout for early departure (<27 mths) is $25M.

Get montana and montana state, north and south Dakota and state that would bring 6 schools to mountain west
@EyeOfTheWatcher5 сағат бұрын
The travel coast is a problem for NDSU and SDSU in all sports. NDSU has to close several academic programs and thus cost is always going to be one of the things any movements are going to be weighed against. Don't forget the move up fee and be able to fund 90 percent of the scholarships up front in all sports. While the MWC might have the money, from exit and PAC penalty fees, that is only a one time allocation of money. Also, by joining the MWC those schools would have to play Hawaii.

UConn is an option! If we do bring them on then UConn at least needs to guarantee some basketball games.

Sam Houston would be a great add. The program is only 1 year in FBS and is already better than Hawaii, Rice, and will most likely win the CUSA. It would be a great way for the PAC 12 or MWC to have a footprint in Texas before Sam Houston gets scooped up by someone else in the next 5 years.

Bringing on Gonzaga means it will be harder to win a conference championship but at the same time it makes the at large bid easier to get .
@ryansuter442412 сағат бұрын
Based on what Adela de la Torre said at the press conference I came out thinking the conference was focused on staying regional.
@ryansuter442412 сағат бұрын
I’m Excited about the very likely Gonzaga add. I see another highly competitive basketball program joining. University of Connecticut would be great! UConn wants a conference to take all their teams. I say take them. I could also see Saint Mary’s or a college from Colorado coming over for basketball.

Strength of schedule will be terrible with MW keeping the bottom 1/2, can boost that a little with Non-con. New tv deal in 2 years will slide.

So sad Memphis and Tulane opted to stay with the AAC. Happy to see USU on board with the possibility UNLV will reconsider and move to the PAC. Almost to the magic number 8. Excited about what may still happen with Gonzaga in basketball and, very speculatively, UConn coming over for football and basketball. 👍🏾 Assuming the PAC 6 number crunchers have done their homework, finally it looks like after a needlessly tumultuous year, there appears light at the end of the PAC 2.0 tunnel.
@ryansuter442412 сағат бұрын
@@joeguerra8435 I’d rather the PAC 12 stay regional. But because getting Memphis and Tulane would have boosted up competition and brought in more media dollars I understand why you would bring in those teams. If we got UConn as a full sport member or as a basketball and football member that would be a win! If UConn wants us to only join the football program they at least need to guarantee some basketball games. Do not let UConn come on only as a football member with no other guarantees.

The Mountain West will fold into the PAC 12 soon. Coming weeks seems to be the timeframe. Keeping all that realignment money to bring back Cal and Stanford. Gonzaga for basketball is awesome too. Also watch out for the Big 12 rise once the PAC 12 is able to buy back Arizona, Arizona St, BYU, Colorado and Utah with the TV deal.
@joeguerra843511 сағат бұрын
@@JasonMclaurin-zt7grWouldn’t that be something if the MW collapses and becomes part of the PAC? Even bigger event, what if many, if not all the former PAC 12 members opt to return home in the next 5-7 years? Crazy day. A good day to be in the PAC 2.0. Go 4-0 Cougs as we go to the blue field at 3-1 Boise State this coming weekend. Battle for PAC dominance before we’re officially the New PAC.

“…It was hot in that gym.”- Does the gym have an A/C ? If so the Swish league needs to find the money to have it on. Ask SDSU; charge enough money to pay for the A/C, find out the manufacturer of the gym’s A/C unit and ask them to sponsor it.

Memphis fan here. Go Tigers Go! Our $250M stadium renovation DOES include 🚻. We're absolutely stoked for this possible invite. Memphis is an R1 institution and recently announced tougher entrance requirements. FedExForum is undergoing a $500M reno. Lady Tiger soccer is nationally ranked Top 10. Our pom/cheer squads have won more national championships than anyone else. FedEx is huge supporter and kicked in $25M for NIL.

Welcome, Aztec family. We’re glad to have you. I’m excited for this new look PAC and really think these 6 teams have a lot of potential to form a really attractive conference. What we see in the current 6 is a new foundation. We have history, we have locations, we have recent success in athletics as a whole, we have schools that will not back down when times are tough. I trust the new PAC ✊🏼

JD and Adela botched this one with the BIG12. I agree that the PAC was a better fit geographically and academically BUT, it was obvious that the PAC was a dead conference walking!! Oregon and Washington were actively expressing their displeasure with USC and UCLA leaving for the BIG10, both Oregon and Washington were actively trying to leave, there was no stability in the PAC, they had no TV deal, and Colorado leaving was the death blow! We should have taken the BIG12 because it would have guaranteed P4 status and a much better level of competition and excitement! I was calling for the BIG12 from the start because the PAC was dead on arrival and all the obvious signs were there! Like I said JD and Adela really screwed this one and this will hurt long term, unless we are fortunate to get an ACC invite… and that’s going to take several factors for SDSU to be fortunate. BIG12 was the key… now we have to wait and see, but it’s really not looking good for us and we may be regulated to G5 for the long haul. JD and Adela over played their hand and now athletically we are at a disadvantage.
