Has any streamer ever played a sponsored game for longer than the agreed length of time? It seems like a game being part of a sponsored stream is just a signal that it's bad, the opposite of getting people to be interested in it. I mean, it's their money they're throwing away, so it doesn't matter to me.

NL has played after his shadows of doubt and hitman sponsors, and probably some others too a game being sponsored doesn't necessarily correlate to being bad, it just means the person was paid to play, which just comes with a "shill for slop" energy

yeah they could just pay money to channels dedicated to indie games like Splattercatgaming and they'd make an entire video on the game, instead they take 1 hour of a stream and no one gives a shit about it

Getting more eyes on it is the point. They sponsor like 50-100 channels so nearly everyone who watches content will see it. Also sometimes they turn out to be very good games, just unknown since sponsorships are generally done at launch

I would assume someone with such a large following gets paid very well for running ads and sponsored streams, a few hundred at least for 1-3 hours is pretty good. The publisher easily makes their investment back as marketing through standard ad spots gets very little click through.
