The Balkans is a politically and economically weak part of Europe that has been suffering the domination of powerful Western countries for centuries. By the will of the powerful Western countries, they were given the entire Adriatic coast, just so that it would not be Serbian. Until 150-200 years ago, Dalmatia was largely inhabited by Serbs, but after the persistent conversion to Catholicism and the violent removal of Serbs, it is now Croatian, that is, practically German, that is, American territory. Montenegrins are traditionally Serbs, the process of their conversion into Montenegrins who do not consider themselves Serbs has been relatively short, since the end of World War II under the influence of the Communists and in modern times under the influence of the USA. Montenegrins are still divided, some still consider themselves Serbs and some have become anti-Serbian fanatical Montenegrins. Serbs, Croats, Bosnians, and Montenegrins speak the same language (Serbian language), but for political reasons, each of those non-Serb nations calls it by the name of its own nation: _"Croatian language, Bosnian language, Montenegrin language"_ .

I should mention that Texas cannot legally secede from the United States, meaning Texas cannot hold peaceful referendum on independence. If Texas, or any state for that matter, were to seriously attempt secession, a long and bloody conflict between state forces and the United States military would ensue, which would be impossible for the state to win.
