Great video and NO YOU AIN'T TRIPPIN !!! I had the same experience as a new producer in 2001 getting into the MPC 3000 and coming off my computer. You're 100% right. They do sound great, super musical and the quality out of the box is high. However let's not forget an MPC is not acoustic or analogue and at the soul of it's core is digital ...I find as a more experienced producer now 24 years (and 5 large format commercial recording studios) later that the MPC's are often far too limited and that I can get the same feel and sound or even better from any computer now. It's not voodoo, it's nor magic, what makes the MPC magic is it's workflow it's midi engine & resolution and audio output compression. I prefer Ableton in the end, as you can do so much more especially with midi and audio that really inspires anything you can imagine. PS: Serato Sample is such a game changer (for sampling) for hip hop and it's a plugin for a DAW - I can't imagine not working with it in 2024
