I have a ‘97 Valk all original, tuned up bi yearly, I ride it often during the summer. I would never trade it for a HD. I’d own both but between the two, I choose my Valk.

I've watched about 20 different striple videos and you're the first one to say it has an extremely aggressive riding position
@NicePantsLance
@NicePantsLance 7 күн бұрын
Its an RS model that's designed for the track. Track suspension, modes, etc....if it had clip ons, it would practically be a Daytona. The bars are low and forward which has you very leaned over. There's a good amount of weight on your wrists. The foot controls are back and very high up, which pushes you forward even more and has your legs bent up for cornering. The riding position is definitely aggressive, just not as extreme as sport bikes with clip ons. It's disingenuous to call this bike relaxed or comfortable when bikes in the cruiser, adv, and touring class are more accurately described as comfortable and relaxed. The problem is that some of the more popular channels feature youtubers that only ride sport bikes, and they're a lot smaller than i am. Im 6 foot tall, 250lbs. Even still, it boggles my mind how anyone can describe the riding position as anything other than aggressive

Currently in the market for one of these! Currently eyeballing a 2012 with 9k on the clock what would be the things to look for to insure your getting a good bike and not a lemon? This would be my first shaft driven bike as my others are chain and belt driven. My current gripe is servicing the final drive or the worry that the driveshaft is shot. Im hearing that part is uncommon to find and pricey. Also i assume with the tuner you cant stretch out the rpm range? Where can i locate that tuner? Im looking for something fun to rip with my wife on the back. I was in the same boat for awhile i tried all the indians and besides the scouts the rest didnt deliver and check all my boxes. The superchief almost did but was lacking the power imo but people say otherwise maybe its because im used to my tuned xsr900 and its powerband.

I've read a few articles and watched a couple "docuvideos" that the trend is towards electric bikes. They have extreme torque. Some are one electric motor and others two electric motors. Like the motorcycle version of Tesla. It's like they're all torque and very high speed.. No sound and they're all green for the buyers footprint. Maybe test drive one of those?

You're right, because those criteria i listed were my personal judgments. At this point in time, i had sold my only motorcycle and needed to find a new one. This video is part of a long series of test rides for me to find the next motorcycle to purchase. Whichever bike i bought, had to check off each criteria. I talk about it around the 1:50 mark With that being said, i probably would have bought the Challenger if i could afford it! 🤘 fantastic machine all-around

How do you feel about the lean angle ? I’m coming from bikes that offer more lean angle. Years back, I had a sportster 48 and I had a very bad experience which caused me to sell it. While on the twisties, I noticed a wooden crate in my lane , so I tried to lean more and ended up scraping it with the exhaust and all. I had to bring it back upwards and go onto the oncoming lane. Luckily there was no car and I was able to stop safely. I really like the feeling of riding cruisers but i want that emergency lean angle if needed…

Lol, the CVO 117ci and 114ci Breakout will get demolished by the HD Vrod. In my opinion, you should have included the Vrod, it will beat most of these bikes on your list as it is one of the fastest and quickest muscle cruiser ever. How does it look to be called a muscle cruiser if you get disappeared on by a Vrod?
@NicePantsLance
@NicePantsLance Ай бұрын
The reason i didn't mention it is because its a 1250cc sport cruiser. It's a high-revving engine, that makes under 100lb-ft of torque. It's certainly fast, but small displacement high-revving cruisers like the Ducati xDiavel, Honda Magna, and Yamaha Maxim aren't really muscle bikes in my opinion. Didnt make this list based on speed
@markurbancowboy
@markurbancowboy Ай бұрын
@NicePantsLance Muscle cruiser = laid back cruiser position, acceleration, and top speed. How they do it doesn't really matter. Cruisers with a lot of low end torque and low horsepower aren't muscle cruisers but are just cruisers. You got to have the horsepower too to be in the muscle cruiser category in my opinion. The HD Vrod doesn't have the low end grunt, but as soon as it starts to rev it pulls like a freight train. The engineers at Suzuki did an awesome job with the M109R it's got the low end torque, and it's got the top end horsepower. Both of these bikes just do it in a different way.
