I hope one day I can open up about my childhood abuse to help myself learn how to heal and cope! I just started ASAP therapy I’m two sessions in and my next session is next Friday and she wants to dive into my traumas so we can start working on them because we only have 20 sessions, but I literally can’t speak about it because I have a panic attack! Even when she was saying that we have to bring up the trauma next session, I started having a panic attack 😭 (at my pace obviously and what I’m comfortable with opening up about that day, she will not push) But I’m wondering if anyone else has ever start therapy and went through what I’m currently struggling with, how did you over come all those emotions and panic attacks to be able to speak about your trauma ?

54 yrs old and I'm still remembering things from my abuse. No money for therapy, so I'm trying to process it the best I can. A lifetime of BPD, CPTSD and agoraphobia due to my abuse. We definitely need more mental health care availability.

The music is an unnecessary distraction. For such an important story. Don’t mean to be critical, it’s just too much.

….Yes very distracting. Worse for musicians who are trying to figure out the melody, when there is non. Very terrible sounding music

I’m 65 and still uncovering memories probably because the primary abuse superseded sexual abuse. I believe you, and admire you for speaking your truth.❤️🌹

Yes my father tried to touch when he came home drunk hated him after that he apologized to me but no that night I told I will call the police and he stopped never forgot it and at the end I still was mad at him. He was such a pervert allways talking about sex. Till the end when he got cancer after he died I cried for months . I forgive now but still get mad when I remember.

Marsha Crenshaw I don't disagree with you saying God bless you, Marilyn, but clealy He has blessed her. May God bless EVERYONE that has ever dealt with any abuse in being able to triumph over it and be successful for good regardless of the abuse. I also wish everyone could be successful in our world in doing good and believe that will one day be true.

Gee, I wish you could have been my mom. Most abuse victims carry three fears. An unconscious fear of there abuser, the fear they wont be believed, and an even bigger fear that they will be believed. We must work through our fears.

as a male abuse survivor I can just say to the silent victims, write it down, go to the doctor and hand it over if you cannot talk at that moment. baby steps to recovery is still progress, same as a set back is part of it. do not be ashamed, just be you.
