So sad to see the monk go, I think you would have made it through the campaign with those two ascendancy pts, so I like the call to go there. Unlucky with the boss though, and so darn close to kill it as well. Btw, I hated merc, but it was the first class I played when the game launched in EA, and they've made some changes, so maybe it feels better now. Best of luck!

These trials are still way too random. In my first trialmaster's challenge I had to choose the statues that stun when looking at them. The amount and placement of those statues was ridiculous and as a melee it was just horrible. But that wasn't your problem here. I found that more aggressive gameplay really helps with the monk because freeze and bell help to skip whole phases of the fights. -- A design flaw, but realistically the only way to counteract many of the other combat issues that the game has right now at the beginning of EA. It's sad to see this journey end, because you still haven't even seen the endgame. Good luck for your next try!

Lucky for you, but I honestly hate that quite a few builds allow us to skip boss phases completely. The bosses are rather well done and the second phase of Doryani is pretty good, though not as good as the whole Geonor fight. Had the same issue with my monk but it pretty much affects every optimized build right now. Well done though.

Grats on making it through act 3. You should probably install a loot filter now. Not that necessary in the beginning, but the farther you get the more it becomes a necessity. The hard part in this second go around of the acts will probably be to remain vigilant, since it's easier you can fall into the trap of playing sloppy, which would most likely lead to death.

I am trying Monk again after reaching end game with my mercenary ... In regards to passive , how did you go ?

It's creepy when the algorithm gets it right but also kinda cool. I find playing the POE2 is more fun just collecting, experimenting and finding what works through trial and error. Sure it took me a long time to defeat ACT 1 boss but eventually I had enough gear to max rez, learned to dodge roll and rely on contagion DOTS, frostmages and raging spirits for damage with grim harvest for energy shield. I have gold to respec farming bone pits now. The fast scarabs in keth killed me many times but i mix up plaay time with alts and love the drop rates for uniues and have gotten good crafting rolls on jewelry etc. The key element may be rarity at 30-40%+ as anything below means less good stuff. Havent traded yet but plan to test market soon. Everything about my witch feels off-meta but once I found spirit vestments shes been my main. Although using spirit on a merc also adds a layer of defense so i may go back there too as mercs have lots of allied passives.

The names of the rare monsters are just randomly generated from a pool, for flavor.

Let me introduce you to the magic of the alt-button. You thought a cache after the ascension was empty, hold alt to see stuff on the ground that have been filtered out due to lvl or a loot filter. Also, when you look at items and before you start crafting on them, hold alt when you inspect it to see what tier the mods are, that way it's easier to know what's worth crafting on. As always, fun watching you play, I am continously impressed with your dedication and how fast you're learning the different mechanics. It surprised me that you went for sorc twice though. :) Edit: Oh, and make use of that lesser jewelers orb asap. Edit 2: I won't spoil the fight, but where you died, you have help in that fight that will shield you. Find it.

its good to put health bar to your minions too its in the option. so you know which* monster is yours hehehe

22:23 Whoever is saying this is not correct, it's going to be very hard obviously, especially if you plan on taking on Pinnacle Bosses etc, but it's not impossible, it will take time and patience, but as long as you don't grow too frustrated and stick with it it's inevitable you'll get there. I don't want to understate how hard it can or will be, but to say it's "literally impossible" is clearly not true.

8:33 That mob was both Chaos Resistant and have Invulnerability Aura, and holy shit that got way too exciting way too quickly :D Edit: Also you can turn on life bars for both enemies and your minions in Options -> Interface -> Gameplay if you feel that would be helpful, for me it really helped to keep better track of what's actually going on, especially to see how your minions are doing (Also it keeps me from trying to attack my own minions all the time :P)

Some of the low level uniques are amazing! Like the unique crossbows are perfect for rushing act 1, easy level 14 in an hour, super useful when you are leveling your 10th character :)

all you needed was combat freenzy spirit gem + charged staff (in addition to resonance node in passive skill tree) man and the monk would skyrocket (btw You need all 3 for it to work). One more thing allways go double phys on staff for monk, everything scales from phys dmg

Monk is the most fun imo! Died 6 times already with it, starting the 7th tomorrow! :) Bossfghts are actually safer if you are more aggressive, with 2 bells you can bonk them before they even blink! Hope you are streaming today, gl!

New patch looks cool, but its endgame mostly and some unique changes. You won't see almost anything during these HC runs lol. GGG patches quickly and they are actually do know their game, we can expect them dropping patches frequently. I tried Physical/chaos ascended monk btw, I used auto-attack until lvl 40-ish lol. It was miserable.

Good riddance eh? I'm not a big fan of the Sorc in its current state either, it's crazy strong when built right, but I just didn't vibe with it. Feels like the only way to really scale things are with Archmage Spirit Skill if you want to go oldschool spellcaster. I had a somewhat good time with doing Fireball, I actually quite like the visuals of fireball, but it just felt a bit sad when I realized my Skilltree looked exactly the same as everyone elses almost, just switching what element you go for. But I'm fairly confident GGG will fix things in the end, really hoping for a vast selection of viable playstyles once the game launches in 1.0.

It's fun that it is possible to go ranged and use whatever weapon on any class, but no need. Monk is very easy to play. I remember starting one after I did mercenary and I thought it was so much better that it was almost unfair. The palm skills work for setup and as your movement skill as well, you just zoom to your opponents and smack them down. Have fun!

HINT Right click on the stash tabs, and you can name, change color, and set loot affinities.

Take solace from the fact that act 2 is the hardest the game is. Loving it, keep it up. Monk is super fun, I bet you enjoy it the most out of them all!1

Bilbala isn’t that scary if you know the mechanics. Look for him to drop the coin in the gold circle and go to tag the coin. He SHOULD appear and attack you. If he doesn’t you have to run around and find him quickly and make him attack you. That’s how I understand it and it’s no sweat now in hc.

You could in theory install the tool X-Mouse Control to reconfigure e.g Shift + L to be triggered on mouse wheel up and inside PoE you configure flask use to Shift + L.

Will be interesting to see what the Marauder class will be like compared to the Warrior, since that class filled The Warrior archetype in PoE 1.

You can use spirit gems of other classes if you meet their requirements. Int sorc/witch can easily use each other's skills and buffs.

Couple of pointers if you want to play with minions: If it doesn't say "minion" on the skill tree, it doesn't affect them. Not life, not damage, nothing. Same thing for your gear. If you find out what type of damage your minions are doing, you can support them with debuffs on the monsters. Make sure to have some kind of backup for when your minions are dead (or stuck in a doorway). There is a life flask mod that heals your minions. Try it out if your guys keep falling over.

Nice my main is a Witch/Internalist. Personally I stack sprit (amulet, Spector, chest) and have loads of minions. I'm kina lazy lol, I let my minions do all the work :) Good luck with the new run, enjoying the series.
