The main difference in 2.0 is the update uses Niagara to "playback/scrub" the splash simulations. The legacy 1.0 version did this through blueprints. While the result are still quite similar, the setup is now much more "standard" and easy.

Lovely stuff! Is there any supported integration with the Water Plugin? For example, how would these appear when spawned on an ocean surface with significant waves? Is there some way to apply the same wave displacement to them so they "align"?

Thanks for the free update. I was having a heck of a time getting the old version to work for my cinematics (tricky situation with an animated character diving from a buoyant boat into a Fluid Flux ocean), but this new Niagara version is working perfectly for my needs! Cheers!

@@kegsfx8603 Just got the Niagara Effects in and they look INCREDIBLE! The bow wakes for the Titanic look immaculate now and some of the breach splashes work extremely well for a Torpedo or Sea Mine explosion - absolutely outstanding pack! A pack like this for other water effects like the churning foam from the ship sinking, a rushing river, etc would be insane!

Awesome! It's a good start point to combine your bp/N-setup with watersystem that generates actual wave deformation and wake behind the boat with water churm. It's not houdini - but: fake it until you make it. THANK_YOU !

I'm afraid there is currently no plans for "official integration" with any 3rd party systems.. but at some stage, I might be able to do some basic/generic but related tests to see if I can find anything generally helpful to share on the topic. Thanks for the interest and I'll keep it in mind :)

Yes, I'm afraid there is a droplet scaling issue in the current (blueprints) splash pack. This is how to fix it - kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipzGhJiQa9KkZqs Droplets now scale correctly in the new Niagara update (which I hope to release soon).

Are the vfx completely created in niagara? I have my own system to spawn footsteps and body hits with liquids, and only need the niagara particles to simulate liquid ripples and splashes.

Hi, It's basically just the splashes that you seen in the vid. While it may be hypothetically possible to convert it into some "wake behavior" - I'm afraid that's not included/support and different system/asset would like be much more appropriate. However, Characters falling into a river/water - that it can do ;) Hope that helps! :)

These splashes look great, but does this only work if the water surface is flat? Can the splashes be made to adhere to the surface of a wavy ocean surface, like one created by Fluid Flux, or would the splash appear on a flat plane as the Fluid Flux ocean waves move around it?

Thanks so much! =D Unfortunately there is no adhering to wave deformations. "flat plane etc." not 100% sure of the question I'm afraid, but: There are flat plane components used to blend to water surfaces - these can be removed. You could also fade out the "fully" 3d component before the flatter part' of the 3d simulation occurs. hope this video helps :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJaQZamGrZ5_nLc These methods MAY suffice for smaller wave deformations, but is not ideal I'm afraid.
