I've got a guy here in Ft Wayne that is modifying my peavey valve king 100 and integrating the DOD death metal distortion into the amp. It's gonna be the nastiest amp in the world. Lol I've had the death metal pedal since 95, I can't wait to hear the amp after it's finished.

Ya I never understood why guitar manufacturers put the volume knob so close to the palm muting position. It's annoying when you're recording or during a gig and you're like what happened to my sustain, then you realize the volume knob was rolled down a bit. It should just be a mute switch really, metal guys don't need a tone or volume knob.

This was a great interview, dude is super chill. If you like the VHD, I highly recommend you try the Fleshrot v2 pedal. VHD is just too flat sounding especially when compared to the Ampeg. FR has everything the VHD is missing and then some.

I had the Ampeg SS70 combo, gigged with it for about 9 years and sold it to a friend. That friend lost it in storage and now I feel like it's most likely gone forever. Any way, I really need to try that SNK VHD, bet it would pair well with my poweramp and Vader 2x12.

Speaking of Ben Monder, his new album from this year was insanely good, I def recommend it. People might claim it’s sleepy/nap time music but I don’t think so, it’s just really beautiful and subtle. You can say the same about new Bad Plus album he’s in, as well

Sounds sick! I run the VH300 through an Engl 2x12 on one side and an Engl Fireball 100 through an Engl 4x12 on the other side for my live rig. And it sounds so dam heavy. There are no pedals besides EQ, Gates, a tuner, and a phaser for the weird parts. No OD/boost/distortion is needed. My band is old school deathmetal/grindcore, and it's more than enough.

Sleaze Merchants intrigued me, Live Fast…was a blast, Multiplex Massacre was life changing. I knew then that Blood Freak would be my go to and every album, each vastly different from the next while maintaining stylistic uniqueness, are just great works of art. Neil opened me up to a new world of music back then and I’ll forever be grateful. Excellent interview man, thank you!

Mr. RIP is smart, I can tell he's got a great manufacturing mindset. He's doing time studies for his processes, probably practices other LEAN manufacturing concepts to reduce waste and keep costs down. Waste? Time waste, Defect waste, Redundant process waste, Over production waste, Idle waste, Inventory waste, Motion waste and Transportation waste. Simple concepts that add up when utilized correctly.
@KyleMolina-y8vАй бұрын
The Hel is an amazing preamp, this video really does a great job showcasing what it is capable of. I'm curious does your newer model still have the push/pull pots or is that what the switches are being used for? Also, some info that is a month or two old for anyone interested. I talked to Brooks about the tube preamps and it does not sound like they will be included in his new system of batch drops, but if you contact him directly it does seem like you can be put on the build list with a deposit. Price for the handwired version was around $900 and a PCB build was around $700-750. There is a jfet version as well that is much much smaller since there is no tubes or transformer that was being sold for $250. Again, this info is older and things could have changed since these price points and build options were available.
@MrRyanshredsАй бұрын
