I just found your channel and watched your house update. My husband and I are going through the exact same process. October 14 will be a year since we purchased our home with the modular company here in NC. I really appreciate your step by step of how things have played out for your family. We had a lot of work to do on our property before the company would even start the build. The delays started well before the house was placed. And like you mentioned you waited on people and didn’t bother them expecting they would contact you. We did the same. Weeks would go by and we would hear nothing. We have learned a great deal. Our house was placed on Aug 22 2024. We were told the same 90-120 days. It has been like a roller coaster the past 30 days. The cosmetics of the house are finished on the inside but lots of work left on the outside. There has been some miscommunication with the company we purchased the house from. One example they had us in the contract doing the garage foundation, which we missed when we looked over and signed the contract. We had no desire to take on garage foundation. Praise God those things have been worked out. The company worked hard to get it fixed. But the initial panic was unnerving. It has been 2 weeks of no work. Mostly due to the rain and sorting out the miscommunication. We are also waiting on the well and septic. Our well guy has been saying he will come out to the property for a month now and has not made it yet. The rain has delayed the build of our garage and front porch. We have a basement foundation and we are responsible for the stairs leading up to main floor which has not been an easy process. All in all our journey hasn’t been too bad but I feel your pain listening to all the things that cause delays. I just started watching your move in video and it’s so nice to see you get in your home. I’m excited for you and your family. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Congratulations. 😊❤

What I usually do when I move is try to put as much as you can In one room. Then slowly bring items out and place them where you want them . That way you don’t have stuff everywhere and the place will be less stressful. It really helps to keep the stress level down. Nice place is that a mobile home or regular house? 👍☮️
@l.l.RobertsonАй бұрын
That is my regular method as well! So much easier. Unfortunately I had to accept pretty quick that we didn’t really have one room that could fit everything so our friends just had to start putting things in random places while moving so everything got shuffled around A LOT. It’s a traditional stick built house, but a rectangular ranch so very minimal extra space.

I did the first big step which is purchasing land, almost 6 acres smack dab in the middle of south-central Oklahoma. It’s not much, but it is very secluded and has water access (only when raining-runoff creek for a pond on the neighbors property) and it’s MINE. Now, the hard part of saving enough scratch to put some money on a construction loan or possibly a double wide even. I would live in a tent on the land if our climate would afford it. It’s 20 miles south of Moore, OK, which always gets big heavy tornadoes and storms. One day I’ll be a homesteader also and I cannot wait!
@l.l.RobertsonАй бұрын
I’m so excited for you! There are so many simple housing options I’m sure you will find the right fit even if temporary. Our property isn’t as secluded but it buds us up against my in laws so we can take care of them.

I was able to find 1 problem on your video. You have zero knowledge of pollination. Trees do not help each other with pollination. Because trees are not pollinators. Cross pollination might be possible, and this might become a problem, for you if this happens. What happens is you might end up getting a different type of food if you transplant different type of plants, or trees near each other. I only know of 3 different methods, or options of pollination, and what is on my mind is different than what is on your mind. Planting, and transplanting, or transplant are two words that you are getting confused with. Planting is not something you are doing on your video. What you are doing on your video is called transplant, or transplanting. Transplant is the action of taking a plant, or tree that has matured enough then putting it somewhere in soil outside. I will try to make it simpler, for you to understand. >>> Transfer plant <<< Planting is just a long story in my opinion, and I think it would take me a long time to explain this action.
@l.l.Robertson2 ай бұрын
Interesting I will do more research into this. And yes, I meant cross pollination for the fruit trees. Definitely still learning the correct terminology

This is my first year gardening in our new climate, I decided to do a bit of "chaos gardening" and experimenting to see what takes haha I've definitely had some successes and some failures. It's a learning process! We cannot grow and learn unless we try, proud of you guys for taking the leap into the gardening world! I'm already learning from my mistakes and I can't wait to see what happens in the garden next year. Biggest thing I have learned is to Trellis everything you can! Such a space saver and a great way to maintain certain vining plants

You are doing great!! and by great, I mean you are trying and learning! It takes time and do NOT get discouraged (because it's super easy to do) Compost and wood chips will be your best friend when it comes to building the soil up to be full of nutrients and minerals (and worms!) that your plants will thank you for! Also, dedicate pathways and stay on them! Walking throughout (as kids do) will compact the soil, making it harder for new baby roots to grow through. I look forward to watching your journey and how you adapt and learn! I pray God blesses all your efforts!
