I just wish they made the base wider so the bench was stand alone I think that would take this product to a whole next level and maybe offer the mounting hardware if you wanted it to be fixed for stability. Because the feet flair out anyway had they just inverted them it would have occupied the same footprint but allowed the bench to be standalone. Which really takes this to a value price point that cant be ignored.

Bit of a silly product for what I imagine its actual intended purpose but probably great as an alternative to a bamboo bar. I would've used smaller 10kg plates if you can then on hand so you could push the plates to the collars and secure them correctly.

@gym_professorАй бұрын
Makes sense. Good advice from Lee 👍👍. ATX's initial estimate was so low at 250kg, but 350kg I'd say is still conservative and they're being more mindful of how much weight you'll actually fit with normal plates. I remember brands stating heavy load capacities and you'd never be able to fit them all on 🤪. I included the VLP in a proper legs session yesterday and 140kg for 30-reps for 3-sets worked best for me. I felt no need to go heavier and the reps felt decent at this weight. I wouldn't ever train at the 320kg we worked up to - that was only an experiment and the reps weren't great either. Just wanted to answer the question 😂. Matt

Glad I found this review as I've been looking at these myself. Can I ask the model you have here? Also could the issue of reduced headroom for shoulder press be solved by maybe sitting a little lower or perhaps raising the whole machine by a few inches on planks or rubber blocks etc? I wouldn't suggest doing that in a commercial environment but in my home gym it would be safe enough. If I could make use of one of these for flat, incline and shoulder press I'd probably pick one up.
