I was born in Longsight 1940 on kirkmanshulme lane close to Stockport road n the embankment across from station approach think the house still there my church and graveyard decimated now whole area has become a third world country used to be a beautiful place for a child to grow up nothing there to come back to

My Parents moved to Longsight, Manchester, from Derbyshire, 1945. I was a youngster at that time. We initially lived on Stockport Road, next to the original Longsight Library ( no longer there ) facing Lime Grove ( is Lime Grove, still there ? ) Growing up in that area i recall Longsight, being full of honest !!Working-class people ( just saying)) I now live in South England, for past 50 years. Anyway, Peace to all.

the building the original library was in, is still there,i live across stockport rd from it not far from where you lived.lime grove not there,theres a new estate (built 1974)across and next to old library
