I just know when I was younger I could be around a lot of people and enjoyed it but always struggled to understand why they don’t think deeply so got very tired quickly having meaningless conversation and nobody wanting to talk more deeply. I mean I didn’t do it all the time of course but I got fed up of people looking at me weirdly if somebody intrigued me to think deeper. All they do is throw around the old “it’s not that deep bro” yes it is because you all live on a shallow surface of nothingness where they have no intrigue and just exist. Probably why they are much happier than me. Maybe that’s why I have always wanted more and travelled the world at 18 and even now at 33 I am working all of the world. It’s weird I love nature and love being in busy places but don’t like taking part in them because it makes me very tired. I also can’t concentrate on normal surroundings anymore at a casual meetings with friends I am always in my own world in my head and feel guilty for being around them not interacting properly but again maybe because conversation isn’t stimulating enough for me. Sometimes this can be a problem because I get very bored and end up getting very drunk just to try to turn that side of my brain off and to relax. I love sharing music and deep conversations but rarely have I ever met anybody who enjoys and is willing todo this apart from a small group of friends I had at university whom were all phd students when I was a fresher. They weren’t the stick up types either but mostly from Mexico and had good philosophies on life and partied a lot. But with them we could talk and exchange ideas, humour, music but on a more meaningful level. I really struggle to have that with English people which I am myself. I have been looking for a friendship group like this one for years now and have become increasingly depressed I will never find one like it again. I was just in a very very lucky time to be around this group of people in a moment. The worst as everything in life I never appreciated it and thought everybody in life would be the same as I got older and easy to find. It was not true. I also learnt friendship is important even though I like to have time to myself to recharge. Happiness is shared, thoughts are made to be shared and discussed and without anybody to reciprocate these it gets extremely lonely and depressing and you find yourself avoiding even more and isolating. Which is the wrong thing todo. * I don’t know if I am truly intelligent but like to think so and my job as a global I.t solutions business consultant I have to analyse the needs of every market and county I operate and provide solutions to problems. I also am an exceptional relationship builder so they always send me long term to sites for months on end instead of the rest in my team who re lucky to get a week or 2. I am also a fitness freak and have been since I was a child and throughout my life even through alcoholism and drugs kept consistent with it which is obviously anti lifestyle to that healthy lifestyle. This I find is incredibly hard to find in common with intelligent people because most I have come across have a completely lack of desire to exercise, play sports or look after there health in that way. I find 99% physically lazy. I have always found it strange. But as a child it was my only solace as a very depressed child whom for most of my childhood was pretty much a mute even though I was the schools biggest sports star. I shook the mute label off at 18 when I went to the other side of the world almost immediately being the person I wanted to be. All I know is it’s hard to find friends anyway, let alone friends whom stimulate you, then friends that enjoy the same hobbies on top of that, and even harder to find actually genuinely intelligent friends whom are not just arrogant narcissists that think they are intelligent when they really are not. This all takes a lot of time and energy and the disappointment can drain you, but it is not the right attitude you have to keep putting yourself out there and take people for who they are. We are not all the same and it’s something I have struggled to comes to terms with and put into practice even now at 33.

I am amazed of how true this is, at my 75 years on this world finally someone described why when I am alone I feel peace and quite but overall even when I have a wonderful family and by that I mean my wife and my children and grandchildren I enjoy when I’m alone, thank you for posting this

As an addendum: those who are far more intelligent avoid the stupid and meaningless stuff going on repeatedly everywhere, because else they would loose time and could not continue to solve problems by analyzing them - which is the cause why they already became more intelligent. If you don't focus on analyzing problems, you analyze meaningless stuff, or don't analyze at all. And if you don't analyze problematic phenomena searching for the true problems (and not what people interpret it to be "the" problem because someone else called it a 'problem'), you mix things up and don't develop more than your social environment. So analyzing phenomena to find the true problem is the key for becoming intelligent. And if you became intelligent you don't do stupid stuff. Professors at the university don't play with baby rattles all day. So: intelligent people don't celebrate christmas, play table tennis, visit events or talk about the feelings they had there, but they continue to understand the entire problematic phenomena of all life going on and work on it towards solutions. Though it's not a goal at all: it makes fun, too.
