Thanks. Your remark is refreshing. I don't recall how many years ago I wrote the lyrics; but I tried and failed to create a video way back in 2011. My singing voice is not suitable for that type of song, I don't play a musical instrument, and in those days I didn't have the means to download videos from the internet. BTW, the old man in the thumbnail was a British POW in Taiwan during World War 2. The boy on the right is my son as a Boy Scout. He's now approaching 30.

You mentioned Bill Cosby. Even if Cosby were guilty as charged, even as heinous as the charge was, that's not everything Bill Cosby was. He probably did more to promote interracial understanding than anyone else of my lifetime (I'm 75). He didn't become successful by making jokes about being black; he did it by sharing thoughts about conditions that are common to all of us. And when he was cast in that spy series, he was intended to be a sort of Tonto to Robert Culp's Lone Ranger. Instead, he quickly turned it into TV's version of what would later be called a "buddy movie." I hope there's a redemption for Bill Cosby. In spite of what he may have done wrong (we've all done wrong), I still see the better angel of his nature.

You're referring to "Mister Peabody and the Mermaid," which was released the same year as "Miranda" (1948). It's an absolutely delightful movie. In the movie, the mermaid (Ann Blyth) has no dialog. In the years since I've watched it, I've learned to appreciate minimalist dialog, so I'll have to watch it again. P.S. Both "Mister Peabody and the Mermaid" and "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" were filmed at Weeki Wachee Springs in Florida at the same time. Because the main characters had to stay in costume, tourists were surprised to see Frankenstein's monster eating lunch with a mermaid.

Margaret Rutherford makes these films great, in My opinion! One thing that was a bit disappointing was the absence of Miranda’s Baby, as shown in the last scene of the first film - ‘Miranda’. …Guess the Producers felt that having a baby would have cramped Miranda’s Men-chasing too-much, eh?!

Good observation. It's called retroactive continuity, or "retconning," for short. When makers of a movie or TV show find that something in the present installment of a series contradicts something in an earlier installment, they either try to explain it away, or they just pretend it never happened. When "Dallas" decided to bring Bobby Ewing back from the dead, they pretended that an entire season of "Dallas" was just someone's dream. Politicians and "journalists" of the "news" media do it all the time.

Probably everyone in America has known since the age of five that the Biblical Joseph (who was not black) was sold Egyptians (who were not white) in slavery. They probably also know that the Bible is heavily larded with references to slavery that didn't involve black people. Yet those same people, ever prone to compartmentalize things, fail to observe things they've known all their lives if it contradicts a popular political narrative.
