Have to comment on reading. I LOVE old fashioned books, but lately is have gotten into BookBeat and I love how you can either read or listen to the book. So sometimes if I want to read, I just read it from the screen, but then when I'm knitting, I can switch it to audio book and it picks up where I left off!!! So now I can 'read' and knit at the same time (or even sew)

My row gauge is off. How do I add extra rounds to lengthen yoke? A full repeat of lace is too much?
@FabricationsOttawa8 күн бұрын
It depends on how many rows you are off. I would think a full repeat of lace would be too much. Take a measurement of how deep you want your yoke to be by the time you separate for the sleeves and aim for that. I always use a shirt to compare.

If you start measuring at the 1 inch mark, 4 inches will end at the 5 inch mark.

It's a good idea to make a swatch that is large enough to have at least 4 inches of measurable space.

Thanks so much for this! I just watched the provisional cast on video. It seems quite clear so thanks for explaining it so well! One question I have: because you are using scrap yarn you can’t be joining in the round with that right? Do you knit one round with your yarn once you’re done the number of cast on stitches? And then you knit the rounds indicated in the pattern? Thank you!
@FabricationsOttawa15 күн бұрын
Yes, you knit that first row flat, and then join in the round to start the pattern.

Hola, os acabo de descubrir y os seguiré a partir de ahora. Tengo como favorito el Ranunculus de Midori porque me parece precioso, así que estoy haciendo esta pequeña guía para cuando empiece a hacerlo. Soy nueva en agujas circulares y me vendrá genial,todo,lo que nos estáis diciendo. 4:18 elección del material; 4:25 tejido con FINGERING; 5:08 utilizando DK queda ligero pero más denso, utilizamos 4 o 4,5 mm.Le gusta más con DK; 6:00 con mohair FINGERING pero utilizando 2 hebras, queda como un DK o un SPORT;

¿qué agujas me recomiendas? Gracias de nuevo
@FabricationsOttawa27 күн бұрын
Yes, I have knit one with a DK yarn and it is one of my favourite versions. It is less transparent as the thicker yarn fills up the spaces between the stitches. It is cozy and warm and fits just right.

Hello from Alberta. Thank you so much for doing this tutorial as well as the Oxbow Tote tutorial. I really like having a zippered pocket on the inside of a bag. I always learn something from watching tutorials from makers other than the designer. I love most of the Noodlehead patterns and the next on the list for me is the Haralson Belt bag. I have already watched your tutorial for it! Thx again 🙂

Hi ladies, just found your KZbin channel. I love the fun you bring to knitting. I’m starting a gauge swatch for my very first Ranunculus. I’m a little late to the party, lol. My yarn is Linaza by Plymouth Yarns. 50% alpaca, 25% linen & 25% tencel. The band states it is 2 ply sport weight. It looks like fingering to me. I’m puzzled. I’m holding two strands together for the swatch. I hope I get gauge since I didn’t like the look of one strand. Do you think the two strands will work for this pattern? Also, I’m adjusting to the large needles. The yarn isn’t moving smoothly over the needles. I’m using the Knitpicks wooden rainbow interchangeable needles. Do you have suggestions about needles?
@FabricationsOttawaАй бұрын
Thanks for tuning in! We like to have fun :) We will be hosting another sweater KAL in September and hope you will join us! Because this sweater is knit at such a large gauge, it really works for everything from lace to worsted. The only thing that will really change is the transparency of your fabric (lace will look very "open" while worsted will be more filled in between the stitches). Two strands of sport weight will equal to a light worsted, so you should be ok, if you like how the fabric looks and feels. Also- if your yarn looks like fingering but says it's sport, it could be that the yarn will bloom after washing, and result in more of a sport weight. To check this, you can try measuring your yarn's "wraps per inch," where you would wrap your yarn around a ruler (not too loose or tight) and count the wraps that make up one inch. Fingering will be 19-22 WPI and sport is about 15-18. There is always the option to wash the swatch and see if your gauge changes.
@sheilajones1657Ай бұрын
@@FabricationsOttawa Thank you for replying. It’s amazing how two heads are better than one. You bring up such an important excellent point…yarn bloom. I’m definitely going to soak a swatch. KAL in September!! I’m in! Oh, I might move to Ottawa to be near the fun. Just kidding 😂 Sheila

Use a small piece of fusible web, like Wonder Under, to close up the inside of the pocket flap. You can cut it to length needed and wiggle it in place in that little turned area.

For the front pockets, there is a dash drawn on the hip side of the pattern piece. For the back pockets, there is a pair of little star symbols for you to line up the top corners of your pockets. Hope this helps!
