Muddy Waters is supposed to be a Delta Blues musician. Not Chicago Blues. This is more Chicago than Mississippi Delta. Yeah fame and fortune is good. But... if you wanna tune into what all these blues musicians were actuallt feeling spend time in the Mississippi Delta region and especially on Hwy 49W from Yazoo City to Clarksdale. In the daytime it seems out of time and out of place. At night? Even more so. I travel a lot day or night. But 49W between the split north of Yazoo to Clarksdale there is something uneasy about it. This coming from someone that has traveled Hwy 666 many times before they changed the hwy numbers. US Hwy 666 was kind of wierd but Hwy49W? It just kind of makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand at attention. So go vacation in that area. So many blues museums. But nothing there like major motels. So try it. I have a few times.
